Easier to say once Corbyn comes out in support of an election.

Predicting the past is so much easier than the future.

Hadn't realised he'd even come out yet? My post was basic common sense, hardly a prediction.

She's also behind 28%:47% in the polls. Apart from that though the SNP has had its day.

I would find it remarkable for an opposition party to actively prevent a GE.

Abstaining won't stop it, it'll just make them look even more ridiculous.

IMHO the SNP will lose at least some seats in Scotland.

How many seats are potentially marginally and open to some tactical voting.

Corbyn like May needs his own mandate to lead.

Sorry everyone, it's might fault that a general election has been called, I have just topped up my ISA by £20k, so the markets were bound to fall. Luckily I couldn't be bothered to calculate how much that I could pay into my SIPP yesterday, so at least I didn't invest that.

No, she just abolishes the FTPA by a simple majority.

Can't see the need, if Labour block a snap election they will lose even more popularity and be in even more chaos and she may as well wait for the crushing victory in 2020 to extend the Tory government to 2025.

It does neatly illustrate the silliness of imagining that a law which requires a two-thirds majority to overturn protects you from anything.

Not your fault. Mrs May has timed the election so that people travelling abroad for their holidays obtain more Euros and Dollars for their £.
