I imagine that the OP won't be back to update as he/she has probably realised by now that they have been royally mugged off :rotfl:0

The OP is satisfied ( after having previous dealings with her throughtout the sale) that she is in his words I believe a "vulnerable person" so none of us on here can second guess that for sure.
Whichever it is still means that it is a good idea not to agree to anything being left in a house by a vendor after completion and to immediately change the locks on completion.0 -

Vulnerable people should have people around them to help them, especially with big important things like selling and buying houses and moving.0 -

Sadly, not everyone is lucky enough to have that once their parents have died. I think the OP said she had been let down by someone who was supposed to help her.0 -

She could have paid movers. She had at least a week to arrange it.
If she was vulnerable then there should be social care involved. I could be massively reaching but I'm assuming as she has a home she is selling and moving to another one close by, that she works and has an income.
She has a friend there helping her now. There is also someone coming to disassemble a bed.
She's not someone on her own with no help.0 -

Yes but help her when? She had known since exchange of contracts that she was going to be moving. Not only that but she chose the day for completion and the OP fitted in with her. When the OP opened the door on completion day it sounded as though she had only just started packing it didn't sound as if she had been doing it since exchange of contracts? Also there was someone helping her on completion day. The problem seemed to be with moving the bed but she had plenty of time to get everything else packed up and there was nothing stopping her from getting a removal company to do the packing if she couldn't.0 -
What I want to know is who is going to move the bed 3 doors down to the new house on Saturday? Unless it breaks down into small pieces how is it going to get from the OP's house to the "vulnerable" ladies new house? Not only that but how did the larger pieces of furniture for example a 3 piece suite or a dining table get from the OP's house to the house 3 doors down?0

Its a difficult ituation but the OP hasn't got nowhere to go and he sounds like he is reasonable person I doubt he will look back in years to come and wish he had kicked her out for a few extra days in his house. Things happen and its better to be good than right0

Also may find they helped her and will do the same for example taking parcels when they are not in.0 -
