Towser thank you for all of your support. I am really sorry about your son. I feel really stupid as well because i know that there are far worse then my situation. Im really sorry that your son has communication difficulties, if you don't mind me asking though have you got any pet animals. I'm sorry if this doesn't help but i was reading a story when the dog show crufts was on and there was this autistic girl who has very bad communication issues, she has a dog though and started training it and also went to classes where they taught her to train the dog even better. The people that went to the group said that they had never seen her laugh before because she was mute but all that changed because she had a little dog that brought out her great personality0

Sam M yes we have a dog and yes it has really helped with his spontaneous communication that is why we got the dog.
Don't worry about us Sam M we are working through one problem at a time.
I love my son so much and I am guilty of babying him too but he will always be my son. Like you and your dad. Let your dad down gently and let him know you have grown up if you don't like being babied. But the are just terms of endearment.0 -
I am really sorry everyone. I just get worked up sometimes. Its my fault i know. I could have had a good little job and more money but i need to look again and its getting harder0

What does everyone suggest i do know. I have tried ringing up a few places in town and a couple said they were not looking, a few others took a look at my CV and said i didn't have enough qualifications and to do more voluntary work.
Don't they realise voluntary work does not give me money.

Ask the jobcenter to help you.
Ask local job agencies to help you.
Get people to help you especially the ones who are paid to.
What about placing an advert in a newspaper, ask on Facebook, use social media to help you.
Walk down to you local high street and look around for notices for vacancies. I saw some while I was out for lunch today.
What about finding a girlfriend too have you signed up for any online help?
Sam M don't give up on your dreams and keep trying you will find a way. 15% of autistic adults get jobs you could be one of them.0 -
are you sure 15%. Not trying to be stupid here but is that not ridiculously low. Even when i do find i job because i have decided now its not going to be if its going to be when that is still a very low number. Why is are country not supporting its own people that live here and are able and want to work, im not talking about people that can't work due to really bad disabilities because its not their fault but for the thousands of autistic people like myself that really would like to work and are able to work then something needs to change.
Is it that we are supporting people who come in to this country and not looking after are own people.
I will be one of them but wouldn't it be great if that 15% became 50% or more0 -

Yes I am sure, that is why I am thinking about it now for my son. I don't want him to be another statistic.
Our paediatrician said we should nurture his interests such as trainspotting so that one day somebody takes an interest in him and helps him in his interest which would one day develop into a job such as ticket inspecting.
Or his love of art into illustration as he is talented now.
Or his love of animals into farming.
Do you have a special interest or talent?0 -
Not really a special interest or anything, i mean i love travel which is why i am doing travel & tourism.
The ticket inspecting is something i would love to do as well, the first class train staff in trains such as virgin would be great as well and apparently its quite a well paid job.0 -
Sam - i know there are agencies, and a lot of cleaning and care work around

And if you're interested i know a property fund with low correlation to that, so they should crash at different times (don't sell the one that crashes, buy into it)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
