have done my last shop of the month and spent £26.81, it's taken my total for the month to £165.78.
this is the first month this year I've been over budget (£5.78) but as I bought a £10 sack or rice i'm still feeling rather good.
I probably won't need it til well into next month, or the month after, but whatever I buy in a month stays in that's months budget, I find that the easiest way to keep track of things.

Please may I have your recipe/method for spicy rice?

This was a really good recipe for spicy rice, it says chicken stock but I always use vege stock.

We had to go to Mr S to pick up DH prescription last night (which was wrong ) and I spent £10.72 on a GF pizza, a family sized ys basic lasagne, crisps and 2 ys GF loafs for the freezer which were 59p and 79p. I don't usually manage to get ys GF stuff so cheap.:)

I checked the banking tonight and DH has spent £4.60 at greggs on lunch and then another £20 at mcdonalds for his team. I am not including the mcdonalds as it is not food we have eaten.

I now have £14 left for the month and am planning a BBQ on Sunday! We do have sausages, bread rolls and steak in the freezer so will buy some burgers and make some wedges. There are only 3 of us so I don't want to be going overboard with the food.

Well I was 28p over my averaged monthly target but I am still just about green for the year to date. I do need some store cupboard items this month but I think I can afford to go over a little bit as we are away for most of August this year and holibob spending does not count in our house!

Ok, here we are at the end of another month - this year is flying by!

I had about another £7 to add on, lost my receipts annoyingly, but it was a mix of fresh and frozen (basically frozen fry's burgers, salad leaves and rolls!).

So, I am over, but by FAR less than other months and I am feeling good about June! Thanks for all the support as always!

    This month I've spent:
£82.66 on Fresh/Frozen food - this is real food like vegetables, not treats/occasionals like vegan sausage rolls or prepared food for example
£25.38 on Cupboard/Dry Goods - this includes grains/dried beans, tinned toms, olive oil, herbs and spices etc
£29.60 on Cleaning Products/Toiletries - I bulk bought stuff that is still going strong for another couple of months
£19.80 on Treats - this is not only chocolate and things, but also prepared/convenience food and treat food e.g. if I bought chips rather than make them.
10p on plastic bags. This category is there to remind me to take my reusable bags! I'm getting much better at it!

    See you all in June!

Managed to overspend last night - result of no shopping list. :( So despite vouchers from Ts, my monthly spend for May was £310. Only £10 over overall, though, so I suppose it could have been worse. Hopefully do better for June.

I went to the shops at lunchtime to pick up a few things for the weekend : some field mushrooms and corn on the cob for the BBQ and some fruit puree pouches for adding to natural yoghurt for my boy (less sugary than ready made
fruit yoghurt). Oh and some cheap nectarines - hope they ripen up OK.

I work in Manchester city centre and every other person in the supermarket today was buying flowers to lay down in St Ann's Square in tribute to the victims of the attack on Monday. I decided against buying flowers but I am going to donate the surplus of my budget this month to the fund for the victims and their families so I'm declaring now at £67.86/£100. See you in June.
