Declaring for the 41 days from April 20th at £90.75/£140. This included £15 on buffet type food, and only £55 came out of my bank account as I used gift cards and a stash of small change for the remainder.
I've already set my budget for the 30 days of June at £110 over on that thread. There is a bit of dry goods re-stocking to do, so I'm expecting to be close to the £110 in June.
I don't count drinks I buy when I am on an evening out in this, but even if I did, it would have only added £11.10. I can't really economise here other than asking for water, which I wouldn't do, as the club I attend utilises the facilities of another organisation, and good bar profits keep our landlords sweet.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Just got back from the shops, spent £9.35. OH needed bread, cheese and udon noodles. I picked up two packs of peppers (no green in bags, yay), two mangoes, tomatoes and a bottle of lemonade.
£153.09/£155
£1.91 left.
So just under budget but I'm happy.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0 -
£259.05 for the month. Still under budget for the point in the year but I need to rein it in.
One piece of excellent news. DH passed his exams so we aren't going to be facing double unemployment.
Off to June thread with a new budget.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -
I am sure I have lost a receipt, really annoying - I am moving into June, which will have to be tighter than a tight thing, due to DD's 21st and my rash offer of having a BBQ party for her and some friends on top of the saved for family meal out - not too bad but will still bite into our household budget....
Will pop back and update spend when I have found that dratted receiptNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!
£300/£1300 -
I did my weekly shop yesterday which came to $185.45. I did an online click and collect order and when I got it home and unpacked it was missing my yorkshire puddings so I now have a $5.20 credit on my account. But I intend to go and get more puddings so I wont take it off my total.
My total for May is $1007.45
See you all over on the June threadLove people use things. The opposite never works.0 -

Declaring May totals 22 N.S.D.s and £15 under budget, which was needed as expensive month otherwise, car MOT and serviced, also 2 visits to Dunelm with my friend, which I try to avoid as can prove expensive, only bought "needed" items but still costly.Do I need it or just want it.0

First month didn't prove to be a raging success
wk 1 £89.08, wk 2 £131.25, wk 3 £ 100.92, wk 4 £148.11 so £469.36/£400 which is a £69.36 overspend
Still it's given me a good insight into where the money is going to. I still haven't adjusted to having Aldi's a lot nearer so I still tend to think about buying a monthly supply of stuff from there rather than a weekly supply - laundry liquid, white vinegar, dried parsley etc. I definitely have too much in the larder and I need to concentrate on getting stuff out of the freezer rather than into it! So lessons learned - onwards and upwards!0 -
£8.31 added on Wednesday because I wanted to take advantage of an offer before it expired in June. Takes me a teensy bit over my budget for May but definitely happy enough. Especially as my two fridges went wrong and I had to throw food out. Not a lot, thankfully, as keeping to a budget and using up stocks and leftovers meant there was not as much food as usual in there.
Now the washing machine has flooded overnight. I am feeling distinctly jinxed at the moment!
Well done to everyone and thank you for the inspiration, whether we manage to keep to our budget or not, we are all more conscious of our spending. This can only be a good thing
A bit later than planned, I will move over to June.0
