Foxgloves and DNMS (and any other manic vegetable growers) you have a lot to answer for, I've just bought an aubergine plant :D I was looking for courgettes and there was a pack of three aubergines with one dead, one half dead and one still healthy so I got it for 50p instead of £2.99 :T (I'll look into dwarf lilac, Foxgloves, that could work well!)

I bought a small lupin of the same variety I lost over the winter so now I'm back to three in the barrel. I got some plug plants for my hanging baskets, (verbena and trailing fuchsias) and I've just cut back rather than remove the antirhinums already in the baskets from last year as they often survive down here.

    I also bought a bag of horse sh*t :D

My mum has just given me £350 for my car tax and MOT :A I will go online later and pay it straight to the CC I had to use to pay them. My mum has a very generous pension (she earns more than me!) and still had last months left when she got this months.

I've done my early recce of the YS cabinet, there's a pack of turkey stir fry strips I have my eye on

    Hi everyone
Thanks for the good wishes yesterday - I had a hideous day, and I was in tears by the end of it and in bed by half past eight. I can get a bit hysterical when I'm tired, but work was really rubbish, one of my friends leaves Friday, and then my trainer rang me to tell me she's giving up on personal training. I felt very sorry for myself.
Normal service has resumed for today though and I'm pleased to report an up turn in the mood. Work was better, still sad about friend and PT, but putting the positive spin of how much money I'll save each month on it to try and make me feel better.
Other than that, busy at work - loads of marking to do. We break up tomorrow and I'm quite desperate not to have to bring much home with me. Particularly as we're going away next week for a few days. I'd love to enjoy some actual time off this holiday.
Bagged another nsd and I can finally see the end in sight at work. The only minor downer is now that the weather is better and the sun is out I can actually see how disgusting the house is. I need to do some proper cleaning urgently.

CCL, don't beat yourself up about it, it's hard to keep on top of housework when you work full time, that's pretty much all I've done on my week off :)

  • Morning guys. Yippee I ended up sleeping in till 6.15 this morning :) but predictably I've faffed around and now time is ticking on!

Not much dfw things planned for today. Have a hard day ahead where I have back to back appointments from 9.30-5. Not sure where I'll have the times to write up the assessments but I'm sure it'll all work out in the end...

    Things to do:

    * madam is going to mil's today so that's £35 saved :)
    * make note of mileage to update expenses
    * take sandwich for lunch (no op for being near a microwave!) and fruit for snacks. Make sure I have plenty of bottles of water!
    * water and seedlings that need it
    * do a quick sew of an fleabay sale
    * check meal plan and get something out
    * go to work early so I can print out some paperwork for all the assessments I have
    * hopefully oh will be up for going to the local after work for a pint and a free burger :)
    * spending time with oh tonight - maybe a games night

Ok that's all I can think of right now! Have a great day x

    Happy birthday for yesterday LaE.

Hope things are better today CCL and sorry things are rough. I tell myself that its only work, it may be a big part of my life but it doesnt define who I am and I will not let colleagues undermine me or drag me down. When I walk out of there I am done and I will spend my free time doing things that make me happy. Oh and there is always the option of shutting yourself in the loo for five minutes and taken some really big breaths!!

Lovely start to the day here. Washing is out, just going to do my 10 minutes pilates and then get ready for the day. Hairdressers after work which is a nice treat but it means that I wont get much paid stuff done on job no 2 today so will probably have to work tomorrow.

    Hi everyone

Thanks for the birthday love! Had a lovely wee day home - as you know, my favourite type of day. :) I did indeed buy the bag!!! I actually love it so I am happy with my little birthday pressie to myself. I think it's safe to say I've now got enough bags for 2017...Surely 1 a month is not a healthy purchasing rate?!!

I spent most of the yesterday day sorting out and then OH came in and started Operation Dismantle on the old kitchen. Today is more sorting out for me - trying to get as much kitchen stuff into the loft for the time being. Also going to set up a mini tea and coffee station in the living room. ;)

CCL - Please please don't take any work away with you next week. Dr La e prescribes good books, long walks and board games! Just one last day at work for you - you can do it chickadee!!

I've got loads of other bits to do today but mind's still a bit busy...

A bit of meditation when OH leaves methinks.

    Catch up soon everyone!

    Morning all :)
Happy Birthday for yesterday La E - sounds as though you had a good one. I have a weakness for bags too, they always fit, don't they? :rotfl:
CCL, hope you have a better day today, and I agree with the others, housework isn't a priority when you feel like you do :( Have a break, then get the family to help you after you have had your few days away. You will feel more like tackling it then :)

    Aims for today:
Check banks Done, Santander have launched a new regular saver account, an opportunity to recycle existing money. I have opened an account, seems to have worked, will check tomorrow to see if a payment has appeared into it as intended.
    Dog walks Done
Find and wrap an ebay sale Found it,still need to pack it.
List at least 2 new items Listed 3, after a period of lack of motivation due to having to refund a buyer for a (nice named ceramic) photo frame that apparently won't stand up :(
Business paperwork Not done, but not ruled it out, as OH is aiming to watch golf on the TV all evening :( Doing a profit and loss account suddenly seems an attractive option!
    Make fishcakes for dinner Done
Hoover middle floor and dust (very dusty) furniture in bedroom Done
Also cleaned downstairs, don't know what came over me!
    Plant strawberries Not done
    Sow seeds Nor this
Check for surveys Found a few :)
Anything else I didn't get round to doing yesterday!

Well, if I get that lot done, it will be a miracle :rotfl:

Last day CCLand hopefully you can have a nice Easter without bringing any marking home:j. When I was on bed rest once, I was panicking about the housework as I was just doing bits really slowly. I remember a friend visiting and saying, leaving it to another day really wasnt going to hurt, it gets done when it gets done. Never forgotten that, especially when I set targets that are blooming impossible to achieve within the day:)
Got alot of things done yesterday, including winter woollens that I had been waiting to do until there was enough to do a woollens wash.
Im going into town this morning to do some bits. Held off yesterday so I could get that NSD:T
Early evening DD,her friend and myself went round the churchyard of the overgrown cemetary 5 minutes away looking for kitty.
They have a cemetary across the road from the church aswell which is so well kept, but with the actual church, they have tidied the front of the cemetary but the rest has just been left as an overgrown mess. It was such a shame to see it in such a state of disrepair:(. Even though we were looking for kitty (it's like looking for a needle in a haystack, it's a cats paradise it's so overgrown and big) my DD and I like looking at the history as some were dating back to the early 1800s and as we live in Wales, even though my DD first language is welsh, she was saying that the Welsh on the gravestones is very much 'old Welsh'. It was so so sad to see the state of neglect of the cemetary. My DD friend who has just completed a 3 year animal course had spotted a couple of excellent kitty hiding places including one which she is certain a cat has been sleeping in recently.
We are going back later on Monday. Think we just went a little too early last night and it is used as a cut through by alot of dog walkers, but I feel better just for getting out for some fresh air and felt I was doing something useful in the hunt for kitty:j
DD bought take away last night as we just couldn't be bothered cooking after getting back (plus she has an addiction to their egg fried Rice! ) and got treated to a present that I had been after since Christmas bought couldn't justify the expense (I got it as DD has a £20 amazon voucher promotion thing otherwise she confessed I wouldn't have got it- nice to see MSE ways are being passed on!!:D)
Banking all checked, last bits paid so everything good and up to date this month. I'm pleased by how much more money I have since adopting MSE ways, still only allow myself so much treat money each month-usually for drinks or a cake at a long hospital appointment as I know that would just go bonkers. I'm much better with target budgets
Have a good day everyone x
