Twins, groceries shopping is my downfall too, I was spending between £50-80 every week in Mr T at the weekend and still buying bits and pieces during the week. This month I have just done one big shop to stock up on all non fresh items (which came to about £60) and I am allowing myself £5 per day for fresh and/or YS food on top of that. It's working quite well, some days I have gone over, some days I have been under but I am lucky enough to have a small Mr T very close to home that reduces things by 90% at 7.30pm. I'll definitely try to stick with this regime from now on.
    Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

    December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.10

I've woken late and am still in bed but will be getting up soon to drop DSGF to work.

The bedroom is still in a bit of a chaotic state but it's freshly cleaned chaos  I have a laundry basket full of stuffs that belong elsewhere to take down and put in their proper place and lots of work trousers belonging to my son should he ever get a job that needs them that won't be getting ironed until he does! I also have lots of odd towels that I may donate to a local animal rescue centre who are always glad of them.

I am going to visit my BFF tonight but will take various bottles of beer/wine left over from a get together at Christmas (though I may not drink.) The teens are going to a surprise party tonight so they will need furnishing with alcohol too and I need to get in some food for them for before and after.

I need to get out and take off Auby's little bubble wrap overcoat and chase the sun round the garden with him!

Enjoy the lovely weather all of you :) (A woman I talk to on the YS run got sunburned yesterday!)

    Morning all

Been awol again over my "weekend". Got a bit overexcited last night and overindulged in wine and Chinese food. This not a good combo in the tummy (sore again) or for a good night's sleep. :o

Having said that I had a lovely day out in the garden yesterday. Although the past week has been VERY spendy. Cannot say that I'm proud of myself.

So a new week (for me!) and get into some good habits again. I've been thinking about the spendyness plus the overindulgence of the dreaded wine. I am def doing it because I want to do something "fun". Not that I don't enjoy my day to day routine, but I definitely like to break out of it, especially when I don't want to adult.

So I need to find something that is different and fun and feels a bit freeing and that OH will enjoy. A lot of the spendyness revolves around us spending time together. Which is often at a premium due to work/habits.

    Today's mission though:
    • B/D from stores. Will avoid lunch to keep tummy unsore. Have asked OH to make the pie. - done
    • Log calories in MFP - done
    • Charge phone in work - done
    • Gym before work - done
    • Email letting agents re Outbuilding roof (still get terrified of speaking to them - emailing marginally better) - done. Put on my big girl pants and was brave!
    • Mow the lawn - done
    • Little bit of seed sowing if feeling in the mood - done. peppers and borlotti
    • Crochet
    • Free stretching video
    • Very early night
    Have a good one all

    Afternoon all :)
Heading off to DD1's shortly for overnight babysitting, so nothing too ambitious for today:
Finished stewed apple in fridge for breakfast :)
Post office to send an ebay parcel - OH wanted to come too, as he needed to renew his fishing licence. We took the dog too, did his morning walk. Made the mistake of giving OH the parcel with instructions to send it standard second class (as he had to queue up for his fishing licence anyway) and he managed to get talked into sending it signed for, costing me an extra £1  I do use signed for post sometimes, but not for small, low value things.... so lost out on postage for that one :(
Washing out on line to dry
Finished profit and loss account that I was tackling - well, not a big profit, but at least not a loss! Still need to type it up, then tackle OH's.
Received letter from pensions people telling me that I will get a small increase this year due to inflation - not sure if this is a good thing or not!
Check bank to see if the standing order I set up has been paid as requested
    Watered seedlings
Planted strawberry plants in the old rain hopper things (been meaning to do this for days)
HM breakfast and lunch, will see what DD has in her fridge for dinner. Don't care if it is just the makings of a sandwich!

    And that is probably it!

whoop found a £5 note & a 2p while out :j thank goodness as I spent £20 in a blink of an eye! Took madam for lunch at a vegan cafe after football and then went to the beach for an hour and oh how we laughed at the silly games we played :D

Also found a massive sunflower oil catering container which is what I've wanted for a while. Just need to open it up, clean it out and put in some drainage holes :money:

I am on a roadkill streak as found 2 £1 coins yesterday in one spot and a 20p on the counter at the post office :D

DNMS, I found £8.31 change in the self service till yesterday but sadly the assistant spotted it too and asked for it so I looked right shifty :rotfl:

I have just put the butter tub in the microwave to melt the smears from the side to pour over my jacket potato :D

Thanks FatVonD. I think I'll try and set myself a challenge next week if I can do a weekly shop on £100. I'll need to get my planning mode on and organise myself and I'll go to Lidl on Monday and see what swaps I can get there. Problem is my two twins are both so fussy and both have different tastes so I end up making more than one dish. Drives me crazy!
  • Twins we're really lucky with madam, she's almost 4 and eats almost anything. So that makes our shopping bill so much easier. I have just cut mine down over the course of a year. Last summer I was spending almost double. I but I have the luxury of a lot more time to do things to keep costs down as only work pt

    Evening Saturday Savers,
Fab sunshine here today. Here are my efforts:
*Put washing machine on timer for cheap overnight laundry (forgot to do it last night).
*Parked on outskirts of town & walked in, which saved £2.50 parking.
*Bought apples from local market - £1.
*Found book I wanted in charity shop - £1.49.
*Bought 2 big packs YS chicken wings in Waitrose - 89p each. Froze them for a couple of very cheap future meals. Also found 2 YS yoghurts which we really like at half price.
*Tried new curry recipe for dinner - chicken andhra. I love a good store cupboard - lots of ingredients but I only needed to buy chicken thighs & I've got 2 portions for the freezer too. It was yum.
*Planted up lettuce trough & put the spare ones in a corner of a bed I shan't need till the courgette plants go out. Added the thinnings to tonight's use-it-up salad.
*Potted up more flower seedlings (all from free packets of seeds).
    *Entered a competition.
And now I'm sitting on my bum in a big chair with lots of candles lit. Enjoy your evenings, all.

    Good Evening All

Had a few really low days but tried to keep the DFW faith and where possible I've

Packed lunch for DH & DS
    Checked Bank and made transfers
Opened isa's for me and DH
    Done RM Surveys
Returned items to shop not needed as wrong size
    Stripped and remade DS's bed
Took mum to buy new curtains and hung them in flat
    Washing and line dried
    Continued purge on emails
    Entered a few comps
    All meals from cupboards/fridge/freezer
Checked: Lucky Phone, Ashleigh, Numberplatelotto, FPL

As it was such a gorgeous day today we called to see DS and grand-kiddies and managed to take easter eggs and lots of prizes I'd won, we then popped over to see eldest grandson and dropped a big bag of clothes off, his easter egg and some prizes I'd won for him - our attic stairs are now clear - yippee. We then went to Matlock and had a wander round and a sandwich and ice cream in the park - was a lovely day spent with DH (as DS was with his friends).

Hope you're all enjoying this fabulous weather.
