So many boxes. Trying to workout a strategy for tomorrow onwards.
Most of the 10,000 box files have gone onto the new shelving . Result !
As soon as I'm settled , most of those will be binned .
I have my friend coming round tomorrow to put some frames up.
Spoke to another one of my friends( we all know each other) and he sent an email for a few of us to have another social gathering in Poole in July
He will be staying over .
I really have to get my finger out . Now that a wardrobe / drawers and a sideboard are empty , it makes sense to start putting clothes in there .
I'll probably end up throwing some of those away. We'll see.
I'm struggling to believe that a) I've been living in parkstone for seven months . (6 months in the first Propery and a month in this ) .Not forgetting the 2 weeks before that on Poole harbour .
Also can't believe it was a year ago that myself and many others travelled to Poole for our usual social gathering . I don't have to travel anymore0 -
Hi AC,
Just popped on to see how you are doing. Sounds like you are still moving forward no matter what the pace
Was hoping to see you had your debt at least sorted if not cleared. You really do need to start looking at the money you have left and working out a realistic monthly budget so you don't run out. Also get on to looking at benefits. I know you don't like to claim (neither do I) but needs must!
Keep up the good work, will drop by again soon0 -
Good advice there Me. I won't repeat it, because I have nagged enough.
AC. I think having a house guest to spur you on to getting everything done is just what you need. Time you started socialising more.
And.....the sooner you can declutter and start getting rid of excess stuff the better. You will feel less overwhelmed. At the moment your stuff is still running your life, dictating how you live. You need to free up space, both in your home and also your head.
Well DS2 has more or less moved out so I have the place to myself now.
Cue evil cackle. :rotfl:
I have made a start on painting some furniture and imposing my personal style and stamp on the house. A little less masculine but not too girly. Definitely no pink......
I have blitzed the kitchen and have given him some of the bigger kitchen gadgets. Living solo means a different way of shopping and cooking so I don't need half of the gizmos.
Good news about my knee .......yes I will need surgery but luckily it's not screamingly urgent. On a scale of 0 to 10 we are looking at 5 so I can postpone it for the time being, making do with self help measures such as Physio, losing weight, supplements, maybe wearing a brace occasionally and the odd steroid injection as and when needed.
I have decided to forego a steroid injection for now because the pain levels are subsiding. I can cope. I have already lost 4lbs so I'm off to a good start.

Howdy me and the 2/ LL
Forgot to mention , payplan sent me a text yesterday sayimg they'll be in touch . I assume Monday , and I assume no to my first offer.
Looks like it's another member of the team ( settlements) so the call shouldn't be as long and drawn out . Look forward to the call, and hopefully if the first offer is rejected then they will accept an increased offer. I'll keep you posted .
The good thing about my situation now is, there is not much more I need to buy . I chose to get everything once and spend no more .
When I finally clear debt , then I will be checking everything and get everything in a pattern that I know how much I can spend each month etc
LL good luck with the knee . Less salsa I guess
Must feel strange at first when your son has gone . When my brother moved out , it took me a few days to feel normal again.(or as near to normal in my case)
You are right about the stuff I have . It was worse until James finally got rid of table / chairs / bathroom cabinet etc. I assume most of the stuff I have in plastic crates are clothes. 3 boxes of vinyl . Ornaments/ photos .space will have to be made so I will start today if I don't manage to persuade my friend for a cider:rotfl:
Me and the two : hope everything is working out for you .
I will visit your diary soon .:)0 -
I am the opposite to you LL - after finishing his degree my son has moved back in - for at least 3 months while he works at the local caf! and earns some money in the meantime he is looking for a career type job or maybe he will go travelling. Oh to be young again, although to be honest when I was young I didn't have the opportunity to go to uni or to go travelling!Debt free and Keeping on Track0

Me neither......that's why I am travelling now. My "senior gap year" or 5......I certainly intend to travel whilst I'm still fit enough. Plenty of time for armchair travelling when I'm stuck in some godforsaken nursing home.
I left school at 15 - not a single qualification to my name. Did me no harm. I eventually went to university when I was 40. I studied art and design and enjoyed it very much. TBH I'm Not sure that I Learned anything I didn't already know by then but I can at least say I went to uni. :rotfl:
Mrs P. It's never too late. You are never too old to learn new stuff and as long as you are fit and healthy you are never too old to travel and have adventures. I have met people in their 80s and 90s who still travel.0 -
Well my friend popped over and we discussed the mess .
He put some frames on the wall, and gave me some advice.
He suggests moving the wardrobe to my bedroom . It means I would have to move the bed around at a different angle to accommodate .
It would mean I have more room to do my business in the gas room .
More room ,full stop. So I will talk to James on Monday .
I will arrange things as best I can tomorrow to accommodate the slight upheaval . I will also pull my finger out full stop.
Yes , I swayed my friend for a cider ( 3 instead of 2) so that means I do everything tomorrow
Walking is a nightmare ,and I am stiff and in a lot of pain.
It will take ages, but I will run a radox bath tonight before bedtime.
I need more steps forward not 3 steps back0 -
As for our kids......well you know the saying.
"Our children are not ours to keep, we only get to borrow them for a while"
We have to let them go so they can come back to us later.0
