Cool - I think it's so important to be realistic, many people aren't. A couple of years ago I lost 2 1/2 stone in 12 weeks, it was too fast and needless to say I'm back here again :)

Mini targets are a great idea :)

Did you get a record able Humax box, they are v good

Yes, the recordable one is the one I got .

Before the move , I was with b t and had one of their you view boxes for b t vision . I miss it, which is why I've gone for freesat.
With Bt , the wifi/ internet was awful but the tv package was great.
Now I'm with Vodafone for broadband , once the freesat is sorted I can just get on as before , more or less .
  • Thanks AC! :)
I think "you are what you can afford" is an interesting way of looking at it. I always used to overcomplicate weight loss and exercise by thinking that I needed to spend £££s on the fanciest gym memberships, equipment, clothes and whatever special food I needed. This time is different because I'm not allowing myself to deviate from my debt busting plan, hopefully I will actually lose some weight now that I'm not trying to spend myself thinner ;)

The reason I said the above , is what sums up my situation at the time..
13 years ago , I was in probably my best ever job. Crap pay .
However, I joined a gym in Holborn which was expensive .
Ontop of that , I used one of the personal trainers and she was fantastic . I lost 4 stone in a year. I was paying £30'a week ontop of the monthly gym fee. Worth every penny !
If it wasn't for the greed of the shareholders of that company ( forcing redundancies ), or this huge recession which is still here imho then my routine would be unaltered and I wouldn't have had these health problems . No cash , and uncertainty affects your health also .
    We'll get there :)

I was BT broadband then changed to Sky Q - great for TV but the broadband was shocking! Sky must know there's a problem as i've just left a 12 month contract with them after 4 months and no penalty (kept the TV though).
I've gone back to BT infinity as I was impressed with them - got £110 cashbacn and £150 reward card so works out at £8.50 a month for the phone and internet :rotfl::T

We also got free BT TV for 12 months, only got it as it was free and thought I'd put in the bedroom but you need an ariel point which I had no idea - I don't have a single one in the house so that box is sat in the garage :( - don't want to send it back as my cashback reduces to £60 and it is free :)
  • Good point Anna .

It's all much of a muchness when it comes to the various entertainment providers .
I remember when we had to have a digital aerial . That cost me £90
And that was freeview ! The mind boggles .

Other news: I decided to list a massive acoustic bass case that is dominating a room on its own. I'm gonna try to keep the bass and maybe hang it on a wall. It looks mad and loud ( like an American taxi) . I also put that hi fi rack on eBay also.
Both at 99p :) just want rid . The pics of the cabinet not great as place is a bombsite as you know . James may take it . Worse case scenario I will pay council next week .
  • Well, the guy did it ..at double the estimation:eek::eek: .claims to have re placed the lmb ? Quickest job ever. He quoted me £367.00 of course I refused that . However , the price was way too high, but then again I have everything working on same day I called .
All part of the settling in process I guess.
I paid by credit card in case of any issues .
  • I'm contacting the credit card company this morning ,explaining that I think I have been ripped off. I contacted aerial force via their contact us part of the website explaining my experience .
I also sent freesat customer services an email explaining the situation.

I've never raised a dispute before on credit card . It will be interesting to see what aerial force say .
  • I take it you asked the installer what you were going to be charged BEFORE he completed the job (always the number one rule when having work done). If you did and agreed for him to complete the work then I'm afraid it's unlikely you can claim to be ripped off however much his over-inflated price was. How much did you end up paying.

oh no AC - nightmare - I'm hoping it was significantly less than the £367 he quoted

    £200:eek::eek:.
I did contact the credit card co. I am awaiting reply from aerial force to see what they have to say .

Like your username , I have to count the cost :)
Oh well, the first time I've been ripped off in living memory , or at least a very long time . Spilt milk and all that
