AC. I wasnt referring to dole money or whatever it's called. I would never claim that either.

I was referring to sick pay or disability payments. Again no idea what they are called these days.

I can understand your reticence but would advise you not to cut off your nose to spite your face. IF You are entitled to something, then really you should claim.

I fought my husbands case tooth and nail, partly because we needed the money but also because it was his right. And I was not prepared to see him fobbed off and robbed of what was rightly his.

He had been the owner of a limited company.......Over the years he had paid Corporation Tax, capital Gains Tax, Employers Liabilty, Employees Liability, Personal Income Tax, VAT. No holiday pay, no sickness pay, he had private medical insurance.

He paid hundreds of thousands into the State coffers and they tried to turn their back on him when he needed something in return.

There was no way I was going to lie down and let them walk all over us. I stood up to them and won his case. I had to do the same for my mum but that's another story.

There are billions in unclaimed benefits because either people don't know their rights or they haven't the stomach for the fight.

Don't let pride, stubbornness or lethargy rob you of what's is rightfully yours.

If you are really not entitled to anything then fair enough but given your health issues and the impact they have had on your life I would have said that you should be entitled to some financial help.
  • Thanks LL. I really don't think I'd get anything . Speculayption I know, but if I can travel to work wear a suit and have the odd hsp appointment now and again I don't think I'm deemed unfit for work. The only time I was , was when I was actually diagnosed properly and had a few weeks home after being admitted to hospital. I have been on one of the other forums here and they more or less back up my statement . Thanks tho :)

ooh AC I was about to ask if you've started the gym - i look forward to Monday's update on how it went!
I did pilates for the first time yesterday and boy can I feel it today!:rotfl::rotfl:

    Pilates rocks !:)
Bear in mind I was seeing a personal trainer and she was combining that and yoga together . What I found was I felt so relaxed and free of everything . A feeling like you've had the best sleep in your life and can't get up. :)
I'm due a couple of persona training sessions as part of the package.
Maybe they can get me to do that again :)

    Oh right....pity.:rotfl:
  • Thanks LL:) I can't believe how I never keeled over in that last place of work. Whether it was on my way there , or on the way home.
I have put on more weight lately, but a lot of that is ive become settled for the moment . So far, I don't feel as weary these last few days as I have. Once I'm off the prednisolone and azithiaprine I should be considered normal :) Gym on Monday should sort the rest of me out .
  • Last sat , I went to clarks to get a pair of trainers. Nothing.
So I've just been online. They have a sale on . I just managed to get 2 different types of casual shoes in size 12 wide fitting. Literally 2 pairs for the price of one .Annoying though that ones not in sale are not in my size when they should be. Once you click the options, out of stock is a regular occurance. I ordered to collect from store so that if they're not right , they can have them straight back .

Just called richer sounds about my hifi setup. No need to do anything
When 'internet radio' is mentioned you could think that you're missing out on a lot. However, it's more or less tune in radio which I have the amp on my iPhone .The guy at richer sounds was professional and helpful as always.
I met Julian richer a couple of times when I used to always go into the London Bridge store back in the early '80s. Nice guy

You keep going because you have to.....When the tank is empty, you run on fumes. Then when you stop that's when it hits you, that's when you get sick.

When I was looking after my husband My doctor told me at that point I was surviving on adrenaline. He warned me that the moment I stopped I would crash. I did, I was just burnt out.

It has taken me a long time to recover because every time I thought I was ok, something happened. Being a carer for 9 years, 3 family deaths in 2.5 years, supervising mums care, dealing with nursing homes, sorting out estates and probate, clearing two family homes, getting dad into sheltered housing, then transferring him to my sisters home.

It was like a series of tsunamis.....

I havent discussed "sistergate" on your thread. To cut a long story short, she took advantage of our father and has swindled me out of £25k. This week I "divorced" her.

It has been more Painful than I can say. It's not the money, had she been desperate I would have given it her. But she's not. It's the betrayal that hurts so much and the fact that she has been so devious and calculating.

Anyway, I have just walked away. I'm done.

Time to look forward and enjoy La Dolce Vita. :D
  • Wow ! Really sorry to hear about that . I know I mentioned the main brother so to speak, but I come from a large family . My second oldest brother is the black sheep of the family .Married a Rottweiler ( sorry doggy ) and basically goes against the rest of us and was a nasty horrible bully who I have avoided most of my life when I can .
I don't really want the jeremy Kyle experience . Plus when I have to be around him I'm treading on eggshells the whole time.
I could go on, but in the day there is no need for any of this and there will always be family members who have to be avoided at all costs .
Their loss !:) You've been through so much LL. I was going to recommend juggling . you've done that , so life coach extroadinnaire it is :)

    Families, eh......;)

Do you believe in Karma. I do.

We reap as we sow, what goes around, comes around and all that.

Ultimately, The laws of the universe prevail and justice finds a way to restore balance. We don't have to do a thing.

I heard a great saying the other day about revenge.

It says the best revenge is just to be happy. Our enemies cannot stand to see us happy, it torments them and eats away at them.

All we have to do is live happy and fruitful lives, that will be the sweetest revenge.

I know my sister, she will soon blow the lot and will have little to show for it, her husband will see to that.

Your Say your SIL is a Rottweiler, my BIL is a waster. ;)
  • Yeah , just sit back and let the others screw up . We've done our bit..and survived :)
