Slow and steady is the right approach for diet and weight loss. Same goes for exercise. Healthy eating and smaller portions will help. Just checking my freesat leads on the back of the box.
They are tight and short. Extensions are needed. More expense, but if it's not too much then I'll just get it done and move on .0 -
AC - try and not weigh yourself every day as your weight can fluctuate. Once a week around the same time is enough.Debt free and Keeping on Track0

Hi AC, good luck with your exercise and weight loss! I have also just started a [STRIKE]diet[/STRIKE] healthy eating and exercise plan after 24 months of dealing with chronic health conditions that caused me to gain around 25kg  (I still have the health conditions but they are more manageable!)
I'm planning to weight myself every day and keep a record in the Happy Scale app (iphone only but there is one called Libra if you use Android). The benefits of the app are that it helps you to see your trends and averages very easily without being thrown off by the odd fluctuations. Both those apps are free or if you prefer to use the computer, then https://www.weightgrapher.com is a good website that does the same thing.
Just make sure you are using the same scale every day & weighing at the same time of day.0 -
Hi
AC as MrsPorridge hsa said, once a week same time of day is what you should aim for.
Do you mean lose 1 stone before xmas? If so that's not much at all, I'd be aiming for a stone a month if I were you.
I am also on medication that doesn't help weight loss and joined Slimming World 3 weeks ago - so far I've lost 10 1/2 lbs ( I don't mind saying I did weigh 13 stone) - if you are disciplined it is so easy
Good luck and massive well done on getting to the gym! It does make you feel so much better once you've been!
Freesat sorted now ?0 -
Thanks Georgina
Hope everything improves for yourself also . Good advice too mrs p.:)
I used to weigh myself daily and have a diary .
The saying you are what you eat isn't entirely true imho
You are what you can afford , is another way of looking at it.0 -

Thanks AnnaFingers crossed for you also. You're doing great.
The reason that I said a stone by xmas, was because I don't want to get disappointed if I dont make much progress.
I'm trying to be as realistic as possible . Now that I've started a roiutine again , things will improve
Freesat will be anytime today . Will keep you posted0 -
Cool - I think it's so important to be realistic, many people aren't. A couple of years ago I lost 2 1/2 stone in 12 weeks, it was too fast and needless to say I'm back here again
Mini targets are a great idea
Did you get a record able Humax box, they are v good0 -

Thanks AC!
I think "you are what you can afford" is an interesting way of looking at it. I always used to overcomplicate weight loss and exercise by thinking that I needed to spend £££s on the fanciest gym memberships, equipment, clothes and whatever special food I needed. This time is different because I'm not allowing myself to deviate from my debt busting plan, hopefully I will actually lose some weight now that I'm not trying to spend myself thinner0
