Glad you're having a good week Anna I would've been fine with the cleaning bill if not excessive . I just didn't like the way she arranged for her friend to come along and start looking for faults and making an imwginnery bill . I'm fine with it now, but not keen on the unprofessional approach. Still it's done, and I'm still waiting for her text reply to my question .
Those puppies sound great . I love dogs, but not the responsibility any more

Agreed, doesn't sound like she went about it right way.

I have a 2 yr old black lab so really don't need another dog but god, it was bloody tempting

The end of tenancy cleaning quotes I've seen mentioned on the housing forum tend to be around £150, and the kicker is, they can claim the money from you, but not get it cleaned!

If you have a problem, claim your deposit from the deposit company it's with, (it IS protected I hope) and it can go through their adjudication process. (Not sure what ombudsman you were thinking of.)

Am I to understand you still have stuff at the rented flat? Do you still have the keys, even though your tenancy ended on 29th/30th? You need to be careful that you're not charged another month's rent.

Gave landlady the keys back . Tuesday was officially my last day.
She couldn't make it until today, so as far as she is concerned , I left on Tuesday . All of my stuff has gone . The last which I took about 8.30 this morning. I don't think she is aiming at anything else other than a cleaning bill. She seemed a little taken aback when I was waiting to see what else will unravel.i had an answer for everything and was not to be taken for a mug. Yes the deposit is protected.
If it's really excessive I will voice my concerns. If not , then I'll just pay and move on. She just went into the mode of liking the sound of her own voice and repeating things over and just patronising me.

I'll go into the office tomorrow to pickup the paraphernalia that I left behind . It was under the chocolates I got her with the thank you card. She probably chucked them away as well .

Just went into the letting co . I had a real good chat about the landlady The lady who introduced me to the property is great, and I'm glad I saw her. She has full picture now and agrees with me.
She is not a fan of the landlady .

Slept better last night . Tidied most of kitchen . Lots to do today

Just had email from landlady /letting agency .
£100 out of my deposit . Could've been £105+ 65 carpet clean .
No problem . Case closed

Letting lady took james contact details . Should be seeing James sometime next week.

I knew it was /is gonna be a clammy day today , so went to Wilkos
and bought a few essentials . Ended up making it into a delivery for next week. No,ironing bosrd. I thought it too hot and sticky to start carrying stuff around so the delivery comes in handy. It's like beales all over again .
Btw : the clipper. It was ram full,of people. I think,it's table service I saw from a distance .
Will make an attempt soon to start unpacking etc. The attempt will probably be a feeble one , due to the humidity.

So, I feel happy and could be seen to be lazy
Where is this leading to ? Before I do another post on the in my home thread, I just thought I'd mention something .
I'm sitting amongst the rubble in the living room , with the tv and a couple of hifi bits admiring the fantastic sound . It doesn't look too sad either. The gear is in the right place . What I'm gonna say is that I'm glad I didn't rush to get that expensive radiogram I mentioned a couple of weeks ago. However, I would like to get a TVs stand that would incorporate a turntable and amp etc.
I know there are hifi and tv units , M!dia centres etc.but I think that if I had this, everything would be tidy and dandy.
Will have to untangle a few wires soon and tidy things up later.
