I've quit everything. Now what ?

Good to see that you have moved in AC. I'm sure that it will soon be sorted now you are there permanently instead of going back and forth between two places.
Best wishes in your new adventure.0 -
So.....
All moved in, safe and sound, no mishaps. Wahoo!!!
Don't worry about "getting straight". There's no rush now you are in, you have done the refurbishment and decoration, you can tweak it to your hearts content and take your time to get it right.
Declutter as you go so that you can think it through before buying permanent storage solutions.
Would second the temporary hanging rail, they are well worth the £10 investment and they often come in handy as a spare. They fold up small enough when not in use.
Well the house I saw yesterday was dire, an over priced dump. So disappointing because I had high hopes for this one.
Hey ho. Back to Right Move.......
Have just rang to try and book some more viewings this week.0 -
Morning folks
I have bagged up the remainder of the stuff that needs to come over.
Hot day. Lovely, but not when you have to go back and forth a few times
I did a bit more tidying in anticipation of her arrival tomorrow .
The blinds man should be here around 10 am tomorrow .
James should be here lunchtime today . The place looks like Beirut except the living room. I have my work cut out . Have to make space in the gas room for the blinds man . I think once I get some shelving sorted out things will get easier. Feeling a bit edgy today .0 -
Haven't eaten all day . Managed to make a pathway for the blindsman in the gas room . Had to rush to Poole ( beales of course) and get a bedsheet for her bed . Saw James , regarding wardrobes / shelving / storage ideas. I thought it best to make use of him while I can . Good and bad news on that front : I probably mentioned I had a king size bed . I was gonna chuck it away when I moved in November
The removal guys advised me to keep it . My friend and I measured up what would and wouldn't work in the main bedroom , and also the gas room . I mentioned earlier that I hated the position of my bed last night . Wrong on so many levels . However James did order a wardrobe and once he helped me move bed to my desired position it meant that the wardrobe would have to be changed for a smaller model . However, James advised me to keep the bed . I did ask if I made a huge mistake . He said it's not too different from a double .
So, I now have bed in the location I expected it to be .
James is looking for a wardrobe for both rooms ( different sizes obviously . He loves the living room. It was mentioned that I nearly reversed those two rooms . I think I've done the right thing using his insight now rather than later. He agreed . He could still measure what needed measuring . Chests of drawers were mentioned also .
There is obviously loads to unpack over the next few days . I do like the living room, and think the bedroom looks way better than yesterday. This flat obviously comes with compromises , hence the price . If I'm disciplined and lucky it should work .
I will get up early and will have to do 2 more trips before landlady arrives . Then that is it . Out of there forever.
I know I mentioned all the pluses about that flat , but on the other side of things : not easy to find / stairs as you come into the flats and more stairs before you get to the front door . Narrow hallway for carrying shopping etc. Kids are making noise above again ( half term)
Better if you had a car . It's a 'raised ground floor flat '.
I'd better tidy kitchen up and try and cook something0 -
Nowhere is perfect AC and most of us have to make compromises to stay within budget and live in our chosen area. We have a 4 bed detached house but as it is modern the bedrooms are small. We just about fit a king sized bed in which we need as DH is tall (slim though) and our wardrobes luckily are fitted into an alcove. No room for dressing table or chest of drawers though. As there is just one of you a small wardrobe should be fine.
Kids running up and down stairs is unfortunately the downside of flat living where you have families living alongside. my mums flat is in retirement block so no kids and my daughter lives in 2 bed flat in Bristol but more working professionals living there than families. I am sure it is just cos it is half term and hopefully they will go back to earlier bedtimes when they are back to school.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Thanks enthusiastic
Never got round to cooking anything . Snicker bars and a couple of rolls . I suppose because there are lots of things to be chucked , and there are boxes everywhere I won't feel right until I can see dayligh
I'll be more ruthless and won't keep things for keepsake anymore.
Got the tv and Apple TV up and running . I plugged the Ariel into socket and ... nothing!
I'm wondering if it has any thing to do with that dreaded sky dish outside the window . I have plenty of time to sort it out .
I have to slow down , and realise it takes time0 -
More than one snicker bars and a couple of rolls? You will feel better and sleep better if you eat better. I get being tired but maybe grab a bag of apples too?
Congratulations on your new home. I hope you will be happy there. You have done really well to be where you areIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

AC. Yes I'm going to nag.
Your diet is atrocious. Eat rubbish and you will feel rubbish.
No excuses.......if you won't or can't cook then get yourself down to M&S and get a few decent ready meals.
Up with the larks, another beautiful morning, another fantastic day.
For the past few days I have been working like a demon in the garden. It looks fab even if I do say so myself. last evening I sat out in the garden enjoying my handiwork, reading till 10 pm, with the cat on my knee, listening to the birds. The garden smells wonderful at night with the roses and Philadelphia mock orange in full bloom.
Off to see another house tonight. Will this be the one. :rotfl:0 -
Sugary foods are the very worst to eat. They give you a high and burst of energy then a dip making you feel tired and lethargic. Chocolate gives me a headache too unless it is the very good one. Nuts are good so have a bag of those instead of snickers and as DIA says some fruit. Ready meals are ok in the short term. We always keep a few in the freezer for days when we don't feel like cooking.
Hope the house you are viewing today is the one LL.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Morning folks
Fingers crossed that you find the right place soon LL.
Well, I had 2 straight hours sleep with bed in new position . After 12.30 I got no more till about 3.30 till 7 am.
Just writing this, taking a quick breather as I'm in the landladys flat picking up the remainder of my belongings . Left inventory and small box of Belgian chocolate from m&s . Hopefully landlady will be satisfied . I will go back shortly and move one or two things around for the blindsman for when he arrives.
James is gonna call to discuss options about storage and shelving following on from yesterday.
So far so good ..0
