Evening everyone!
Thanks EE for the lovely daffodilsLoved em!
So today was a spend day (planned). Went on my date and utilised my social fund to buy a lovely meal for us... It went really well and I'm still smiling. I got myself a much needed new wallet, and it feels very symbolic. New season... tidying up my finances... and getting rid of the old one that the ex bought me, on the same day I meet somebody new. Date number 2 already arranged! All in all - very positive day!!!
It did mean I wasn't in for much of the day... so I need to think about de-clutering. I did get rid of a lot 2 years ago when I moved to where I am... and a bag of clothes went last month... However - I am sure if I dug out the boxes of packed things - there is loads I haven't missed and will never use. I'll take a look.
Off to do my mindfulness and turn in for the night. Catch you all tomorrow x⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

Not NSD yesterday - supermarket spends - sig updated. Did minimum required yesterday (small shop, fed people/ stuck dishwasher on, ironed school and work clothes) - full of a heavy cold. Compounded by (when out) hayfever symptoms from tree blossom (is it hawthorn around at the mo which smells a lot?) Still, am only at work today for around 2.5 hours
Yesterday's thankfulness:
* 85% dark chocolate
* party cake for puddings!
* easy food (pasta)
* steam generator irons
Just time to get the washing out today (looks lovely out there) before heading off to work in a bit.

Abundant date sounds fab, how comes you were paying for the meal though? Taking a lead from you given my phone number to somebody who wants to meet up, not sure really but I need to push myself. Good luck with date no 2.
Tired today, back problems again seems nerves in my back
trap when I lie down. so very little sleep.Will see if it heals up next day or so, before I end up with parting with cash. Having a lazy day today hardly any walking and see if it helps.
SFD no 1 today. The start of my long line of them this month ;-)

Today won't be a nsd for me - I have to put petrol in the car. So, I will make the most of it and do the other bits that I need to get done tonight as well on the way home from ds swimming lesson. I just need a card for a friend who is leaving work
and maybe some chocolate. We'll see - I'm fairly determined to hang onto my cash for as long as possible this month (famous last words).
I've bagged up another charity bag as part of the declutter mission. I gave up going to cash for clothes as they kept rejecting the stuff I took. So may as well go to charity.Not giving up

Afternoon Turtles
Stocked up today on the things we couldn’t carry yesterday. Large pack toilet tolls, kitchen towels etc plus something to tempt the sick ones to eat. Son has been to the doctor and came back with huge bag of medicine to treat a glandular infection. Few days in bed for him. C still coughing and spluttering. I’m cooking two pieces of salmon from the freezer for myself. Will have one tonight and have the other for lunch tomorrow with salad.
Didn’t manage to get to the Charity Shop today but I’ve found a pair of almost new trousers which don’t really suit me so I’ll take those as well.
Few little things ticked off the to do lists. Had hoped to do a bit more but feeling tired due to lack of sleep last night.
Phoned my sister in law. Will meet her some day next week when she’s available. Friends and neighbours are being so kind. She’s been swamped with invitations for lunch etc. Must email my brother in Canada and let him know she’s managing OK.
Tonight I’m planning a relaxing bath and off to bed with a cup of green tea and a book.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
NO NSDs yet...
Did joyful spending on Saturday - and got some fabulous heels for £10 cheaper than they should have been (mislabelled) and then convinced them to give me a £5 voucher as I'd had to travel back to town to get the refund.
Also bought new trainers and had a haircut and went out to lunch... The list goes on...i dont think April is going to be a great 'low spend ' month for me with hen do, birthday and wedding (I know normally your own birthday shouldn't cost but I am a twin so have an excuse!)
On the plus side, we have had some very generous gifts from relatives including £1000 from OH's dad who isn't even bothering to come to the wedding and £300 from my aunty (which I put into savings immediately to avoid temptation!)
So, I think I'll be watching from the sidelines and cheering everyone on

Evening folks,
Today has been another NSD so I'm now at 2/16. Progress is progress
Had a good day at work - got in early so finished at 4:45. Another 8 work days before I'm off!! Counting them down makes me feel better!
I'm decluttering food at the moment - using up what's getting bendy so nothing gets thrown away. I'm hoping all the (nearly off) food will be eaten this week!!!
I've also got Tom to clean the bathroom (loosely following Flylady) whilst I cook dinner. That seems fair XDFebruary Grocery Budget: £190.75/£350.00

Quick end of day update: NSD no 2. Felt passable earlier - feel dog rough again now - curled up on sofa for an hour earlier, shivering under a blanket. Putting smallest 2 to bed and joining them , I think.
