Does anyone have any tips on how I can explain to my three year old about not spending money?

Identify the things which he/she asks for and the times /places they asks for things.

Then carry a backpack with a cheaper distraction or two!

Along the lines of - oh, I don't have any pennies for _______ but if you can find something in my backpack you would like, then you could have one of those instead. Is that ok? Then they feel like they have a choice. :p

Buying a multipack of H0laH00ps once a week from the £shop saved my budget many many times.

That or 'we will have to walk to _________ and back if you want one of those'

But then I am mean:rotfl: or so I am told.

Does anyone else get more than just a runny nose? I get a really sore throat, swollen glands, achy ears, sore eyes as well as the runny nose. It's a nightmare for a few days and then once the antihistamines are in my system I am fine.

Running nose, sore throat, itchy eyes, itchy inside of mouth, itchy inside of my ears inside my head, bunged up ears, feel tired even though I am wide awake and full of energy- think it must be the dry eyes, very odd sensation - rational brain vs sensations - and kids who are fine until they lie down and then they have this dry cough .....all....night.... long.

I only got hayfever when I became pregnant at 28. Before that I was oblivious. 14 years later and I still cannot get used to it. Starts with the blackthorn in February, continues through to October. I find the generic antihistamine liquid (£3 or £4 a large bottle from behind the chemist counter) combined with Flixonase sniffy thing works best for me.

Feeling a bit iffy this week so checking in later than intended.
Have discovered I can apply for my senior railcard now so I can use it from the actual day. £20 cheaper if I buy 3 years rather than a year at a time.
Our local arthouse cinema does £3 off per ticket for most films as long as I take ID; there's the £3 ticket offer at cinema chains which includes tea and a biscuit... :D
But no bus pass. Ah well.

    You're all doing marvellously :D

    Afternoon Turtles

Much better night last night. The antibiotics are obviously starting to work. Unfortunately my son had to have 2 fillings at the dentist today so chicken noodle soup for dinner for him. I’m using up the rest of the mince to make our family version of stovies (not quite the same as others but similar) for me and C is having a little bit of fish as he’s not quite up to eating yet.

Much more productive and positive day. Things ticked of lists and holiday in Northumberland booked for September. Set the email alert for cheap train tickets.

Doesn’t quite count as gardening but tidied up the communal area at rear of house (litter was driving me mad - why do people do it?} and found a £5.00 note and a 1p in the process. Might count as decluttering though.

Short_bird – Senior railcard is great especially if you can book your tickets in advance. At what age do you get your travel card? It’s 60 in Scotland with free bus travel all over Scotland and some reduction on rail travel depending on which area you live in. Think the Scottish Government are reviewing it, though, as the retirement age has increased.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

NSD yesterday and today. Plan to go to Sains tomorrow as its my only day not at work and I have a £6 off £40 voucher to use, plus a triple points voucher which both run out on Sat (am very good at spending just over the £40, but less than £41)

Small fleebay sale last night - so another item has gone :T Have around a dozen items on there at the mo - am hopeful most will go this time around.

Beautiful day here today, although I have spent most of it at work in a windowless sports hall, so haven't been able to appreciate it :( (and there was frost on my car when I left for work this morning!) - I do have a load of washing on the line which must be well and truly dry by now though :) - I *must* do some ironing tonight - I appear to currently have a small mountain range of clothing at the back of the living room!:rotfl:

Looking forward to schools breaking up on Fri (must remember they finish early!) - and then OH is collecting DD (and bf) from uni on Sunday - I'll have all my babies at home for the holidays :):) DD and bf are doing some paperwork tasks for me over the hols - in return for a Nand0s (which I'd likely treat them to anyway) ;)

Oh - I'm another one who suffers not just a runny nose with hayfever - streaming itchy eyes, scratchy throat and itchy face here - the pollen at the mo is awful for it (I'm fine come full on Summer, except when grass is being cut)
