  • Hi all today has been a no spend day. Does anyone have any tips on how I can explain to my three year old about not spending money?

    Afternoon Turtles

Another night with virtually no sleep due to C’s coughing. Made him go to doctor’s this morning and he has a chest infection. That’s both of them on antibiotics now so hopefully a better night tonight.

Really didn’t manage to do very much today (too tired). Bought some vegetables and juice and made mince and potatoes for dinner for son and myself using some of the YS mince I bought the other day. C still not feeling hungry so I’m about to make him an omelette.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a bit more productive.

Glad you have had a positive date abundant! Go you!

Today I am grateful for getting on with my 'new' counsellor, for the buses all working out, for the ability to run for rather a sustained amount to catch the bus home (it was that or wait 30 mins), for aldee having their balm tissues in, for dh going and doing some shopping, for my washing machine, for managing another tough workout, for the leaves appearing on the apple trees, for my lovely dd, for hot water whenever I want it.

Toni'sfriend - hope your son and C get well soon. This seems to have been lingering for a while now.

Indigowarrior - maybe do things that do not involve going in or near shops? It is hard for littl'uns to just look and not acquire.

Managed another NSD - had medical spends today only, my hayfever is back as worse as ever so have stocked up on hayfever medication including the syrup to try and get it into my system while I wait for the tablets to kick in.

Does anyone else get more than just a runny nose? I get a really sore throat, swollen glands, achy ears, sore eyes as well as the runny nose. It's a nightmare for a few days and then once the antihistamines are in my system I am fine.

I am allergic to tree pollen so living in the countryside is not great for the next few days!!

Nothing left the house today but have just added 2 computer monitors on a free site so fingers crossed I get them rehomed this week.

Yes EE I have a whole range of hayfever symptoms plus eczema due to the sun (killer headaches if I stay out too long - I know I might look ridiculous walkinh round town in a proper sun hat but it works) and midges and all manner of insects find me irresistable. I am allergic to a wide range of pollen so it's pretty much all the way through to October and if people have to have grass (usually at the front and no-one sits on it or plays games), I wish they wouldn't cut it.

The web-site was even more recalcitrant than expected so haven't managed to set up the direct debit. I got into 'my account' only to find it still had the address and billing reference for the old house. Wouldn't let me change details so I deactivated the account and set up a new one - but it kept saying there was already an account for my e-mail address (said this when I first went in. Stopped before I got to the chucking the laptop out the window stage.

Went to the library so took things for the food bank and have earmarked some other things to leave the house. Spent money on food to go with what I had in ie had sandwich meat but no bread. £8.46 spent.

Well done on the dating abundant.

Today I am grateful for new flowers blooming around the library, for Mr Blackbird hopping up and down the backs and for a lovely terrier I saw running along on 3 legs.

    Evening

So, today I managed another NSD. I'm now at 3/16.

Had a long, boring day at work today. Feel like I got nothing done at all. Never mind.

I've got a long day at work tomorrow- phone shift 3-5 so will end up leaving later. Don't know we bother having phone shifts anymore - all the calls to our office now go through to a contact centre - we're 'on call' during our phone shift in case they need help.

I've had a lovely evening though with my friend - talked wedding and planned flowers/hen do! Exciting:)

Thanks, Apple. I think C is generally just run down with all the stress and is, therefore, prone to catching all sorts. At least my son isn't croaking like a frog any more. His voice is beginning to come back and his throat is getting better.

  • Evening everyone,

Managing to make my first post for this month, well done to everyone who has made progress so far :)

Aim – I’ll got for 12 NSDs. I had one yesterday so yep my grand total is 1.
Plan – I’ve opened a monthly saver to cover my T.V. licence, building/contents insurance and factor fees for next year (first time I’ve done this). The standing order has been set up for £30 but I will probably need to increase this sometime in the future to ensure all the costs are covered.
Rest – A cup of tea and a read of my book when the little one is in bed will do me fine.
Invite – I met my friends for brunch on Saturday and we may have a night out on the Easter weekend although we usually end up heading home at 11pm for a chippy around the kitchen table and a natter until 3 or 4 in the morning! I’m also off to visit my sister down in England for two nights next week.
Love – although I’d really love to love my stamp sized garden I really can’t. It slopes down and contains two drains making it wet most the time. It barely gets any sun either so I’m afraid it’s merely become a place to store my 4 different bins (one of which currently contains a tarantula so is not in use as said tarantula tries to attack me when I open the lid).

I have been good today and did lots of walking (three separate trips – supermarket, library and child-minders). I resisted the reduced Jaffa Cakes and Kinder Chocolate at the supermarket. I returned two books and a DVD to the library and came back with three books and a DVD (End of Watch). I’ve already watched the DVD and started one of the books. Also watched an episode of Elementary on Now TV and did some surveys.

P.S. Will join in with the de-cluttering challenge and aim to get rid of as much as possible.
