I hadn't even registered for online billing - but I still managed to do that a few minutes ago.
I have bills already on email, quarterly; they don't download from the site any more. I have taken screen shots of all meter readings and the payment record direct from the web pages, and made sure the current credit balance is also copied as the home page shows £0 (which it certainly isn't).
The screen shows name, account number MPAN, serial number - everything needed. This might be an alternative way of collecting the information needed for the future.

Yes, me too. Once the first meter reading has been entered nothing worked when I clicked on "Enter another reading". After electricity I had to click on "Home", then click on the "Meter Readings" tab again, scroll down to gas and enter that. But it did work. No email confirmation yet, though, and it states that the readings can take several days to appear on the account!

    What a kerfuffle!

I've downloaded some bills from the site in the last hour. Sometimes you have to refresh the pdf creation process. I have most of mine on email but a few were missing.

Called GNE Customer Service today. Was put through to an advisor (who happened to be in South Africa) and explained that I have cancelled DD and asked him to to confirm that there would not be a problem as a result of my doing so.
He did confirm it was OK and said, obviously enough, that either I would receive a bill or a refund when the new provider was in place and we know that we can change to a different provider afterwards if we wish and there won't be any fees or restrictions applied.  I might consider Octopus but it's early days.

I asked if he knew what would happen to their staff - he said the overseas staff would be retained but transferred to another employer  but was less sure about the UK staff.

Just a matter sitting tight and seeing what happens.

No-one has yet commented on EDF taking over from GNE.

I just had my first email from EDF advising me of the change. Not much else to report as we speak.
