I was heartbroken when my Holly hamster died, she was 4, and had a great life. You have my condolences abaxas. Whatever the pet, their passing is always a wrench0

Sorry to hear about Tentacle
3 is a ripe old age for hamsters though, and it sounds like he had a nice life with a caring owner.
D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0 -
So sorry to hear that he has passed away, he did have a long life and from your posts a very happy one.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

My fault, I left the lid off one of his pods after cleaning it last night. We know he got under the floorboards above the kitchen as there was a hole in the ceiling where he'd chewed through and debris on the kitchen floor this morning. Whether he made it down into the kitchen or is still somewhere between the the upstairs and downstairs we don't know, there hasn't been a peep since. Percy is such a gentle little soul, it breaks my heart to think he could die of thirst in some grimy hole in the wall. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he'll find his way back, but does anyone have any ideas on how to increase his chances? His girlfriend Mabel is still happy and safe in her cage complex, so maybe her perfume will lead him home.0

If you take a nice shiny smooth plastic bucket, build some 'stairs' out of books or similar, and put it in the room you think he's in - lay a trail of his food up to the edge of the bucket (not too much, you don't want him to be full
) and some more food to keep him going for a few hours in the bottom of the bucket, he should find his way in, he'll slide down to the bottom of the bucket and not be able to get out till you check it in the morning. May take a day or two. He'll be OK for a few days, and don't worry about water - he'll find what he needs - condensation has saved bigger animals than a hamster.
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
Thanks for that, trouble is I don't which one of five rooms he could be in. The doors were open throughout. I keep expecting to see his little face peering up at me. I've propped open the bottom of his tower which goes down to the floor, he has access to all his cages from there. My concern is whether he's actually trapped somewhere.0
