Please could you put me down for £440 in April. My budget starts to day and ends on 27th April.

This is for 4 full weeks including the food and drink I buy to take on our caravan holiday for a week. Anything I buy to eat when we are away on that week will come out of the holiday spending money.

Today will be a spend as I need cereal and something for tea for DH and I.

My shopping for this week is done but very little is attributable to GC as we are away from tomorrow with a week or so walking in the North of Scotland and then a day or two at my Mum's in Southern Scotland. All the shopping is my part of the list for the self-catering house that eleven of us will be sharing. The accommodation was all paid in December and I will be out of pocket until we settle up but that is OK.

My shopping this week is a few store cupboard top-ups and some milk, cereal and pizzas for DS with will be cat-sitting while we are away

I'm in again. I'm hoping for a repeat of March. We are both away for a couple of days next week, and that will come from a separate budget. DH is studying for exams so Easter isn't really happening. We have guests tomorrow but I've done the shopping/cooking for that already.

The cupboards are beginning to show gaps. I'm going to try really hard not to refill them. I also need to start using up some of the 'winter snow supplies'. Although that might be a bit premature considering last week:rotfl:

First shop today of £53 so at £53/£160, this should last apart from milk/bread until 13/04. A fair bit of it was household, toiletries and pet supplies. I also a couple of bits for Easter as on SO that runs out next week.
  • Hi all,

Been AWOL for a few months, but I've just started a new job and need to make sure we manage our finances better.

Please put me down for £600 for the month of April, starting tomorrow.

This is quite a large amount, but that's because I'm hoping to do a relatively large shop at Co$tco, and will subsequently reduce our May and June budgets down to £300, to make an average budget of £400 a month over the next 3 months.

Happy money saving everyone and hope you all have a wonderful weekend! :)

Thank you so much for the advice. I have just written a meal plan -

Saturday - Toad in the hole
Sunday - Dinner with my Mum (free)
Monday - Cottage Pie 500g mince (from 1kg pack)
Tuesday - Spag 500g mince (from 1kg pack) - already got pasta
Wednesday - Jacket potato beans cheese
    Thursday - Sausage Mash
    Friday - Chicken wedges veg

I had ordered from Asda but for some reason my payment didn't go through Thurs so re did tonight. I spent £36 but that included an offer for 36 toilet rolls at £7

I have a lot of things in the cupboards so hoping not to waste all that, do some baking with the children.

    36.56 spent so far
