£32.50 last week and hopefully won't be buying anything today or tomorrow. It's amazing what a difference it makes when I'm not binge eating, all those little bits add up.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

MMM. I have a separate 'Unprepared/Fat/Lazy section in my budget. So it doesn't go into GC (because DH and I split Grocery bills).
It really shows when I am in binge mode. Jan - £9.44:j, Feb - £86.70:eek:, March - £124.27:eek::mad: That explains why I'm 1lb heavier than at the beginning of the year. It also means my savings are that much lower. Back in 'January' mentality today. Fingers crossed it lasts:(Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -

Sorry to hear that, but it's good to know I'm not alone. I was really good in December/January, then binged solidly for about a month from mid Feb. I don't want to think about the effect on my weight.
Something seems to have 'clicked' in the last week so hopefully it'll last.SaveUnless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
My budget started yesterday and we have spent nearly half of it already:eek: After wasting so much food last month trying to stick to a particular way of eating but not having the time to do all the prep required we have gone back to eating our reasonably healthy but not super clean way which has meant some stocking back up.
DH also bought 6 shower gels on offer ( I am sure he drinks it in the shower!) and I needed hair dye, moisturiser, shampoo and face wash which will last a good while. Well, not the hair dye I need one of those every 3-4 weeks.
We also bought a huge box of crisps in the new Iceland Warehouse we tried today. DH's challenge is to make them last more than 2 weeksI cant eat them as they contain gluten which is good or I would be scoffing them all day long.
Split so far is:
£182.27 - food, dog food, cleaning & laundry
£24.25 - beer and wine
£0.00 - Takeaway
£0.00 - work lunches out
Meal plan for the next week:
Sun - Roast gammon, ys roast potatoes, frozen veg
Mon - Lasagne for DH and Carbonara for me (will make 4 lasagnes out of 750g mince and put 3 in freezer)
Tue - Veggie chilli and spicy wedges
Wed - Sausages, mash and peas/beans
Thur - I have a 16 hour day so a ready meal for both of us
Fri -HM hunters chicken, chips and veg
Sat - Ribs, burgers, wedges, corn and salad
Sun - Chicken kiev, potatoes and veg or anything that needs eating up as we go on holiday for a week the next day
Lunches for DH are a combination of SW ready meals or sandwiches and for me it is usually something on toast, an omelette or soup if I am working from home which I am for most of next week. DS has lunch at school and dinner at grandparents.
When we return from our holiday I really need to do a full inventory of the fridge, 2 x freezers and cupboards to ensure we come in under budget this month.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750 -
£40
for April please.

Oh 'eck. I don't know whether to count this Friday just gone as March or April! The day itself, always my main shopping day, was in March, but it was payday, and most of the food will be eaten in April... So I'd better call it April and add the £80 to my total. Next payday is 28th, which will make May a 5-week month but this way April is only 4.
So £80 has been spent at the market, and this week's main meals will include/have included fish & potato pie (last night) chilli con/sin carne (DD2 makes her own veggie version) roast chicken/squash tomorrow, which may have to feed 8 but that's two birds, chicken curry (with leftover chicken, bulked out with chick peas or butter beans if there's not enough & we still have a DS or two lurking about) or dahl, omelette - all 11 chickens are laying like crazy - HM top-your-own pizza and baked potatoes with anything left over that hasn't already been eaten up - sour cream & chives, baked beans & cheese, and tuna & sweetcorn being the store-cupboard standbys if everything else has. Lunches will be chicken noodle soup, from the carcasses & scraps, cream of tomato, from "soft" tomatoes left over at the end of the market tomorrow, 50p a large bag & roasted alongside the chickens, and salads. There'll be a sourdough loaf and there's plenty of cheese. Breakfasts will as usual be pancakes with fruit (raspberries currently 3 punnets for £2 at the market) porridge or scrambled/poached eggs on toast.
The "bulk buying" purse will take a hit this month with a stock-up on cat food, and possibly some more flour. I bought 3 8Kg sacks back in late January but two of them are only half-full already. And we've added another rescued moggy into the mix, having lost our much-loved ex-feral friend back in November. It's quite possible that Senior Moggy, now 19, won't be with us much longer - but we've been saying that for 5 years now and she's bounced back every time. However, she's not eating so much now, and is finding the stairs a bit of a challenge, so I'm happy to spend a bit extra on food she does like, rather than just feeding them whatever's cheapest.
Off now to add the £80, if I can work out how, having been forced to move to the "blue" version of the forums from the old green one by a computer glitch...Angie - GC Sept 25: £87.45/£450: 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 28/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -
Can I join for April please, with a target of £120. Should be manageable, as have quite a lot in at the moment"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"
