Back from the allotment, I now cannot get anything into the fridge either, we brought beans, beetroot, cabbage, cauliflower, calebrese, sweetcorn, turnip and some pink fir apple spuds...............I guess we are going to be eating a lot of veg!!!

Another of the plots has been taken, given as a retirement present....when we got there this morning they were decorating a shed which had appeared since last week....later the chap was brought blindfold and shown round, they have even bought him a spade and a chair!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are off to the garden centre in a mo so I had better go and get changed.............

Just had a mega phone call with M&S Money about something that has appeared on our statement we dont know about - It was an Indian call centre guy and it was hopeless let me tell you:mad: I gave up and called again, got someone in UK this time and sorted it out no problem!!
  • Afternoon everyone :j

Still at work - but only another hour to go ;) When I've picked up DD from school I need to go round FIL's and walk his dog. FIL had a heart attack last Monday and clearly isn't up to much at all really. So we'll probably have a quick cuppa as well. When I get home I need to bake some more cakes for tomorrow's coffee morning, and think about what we're having for tea.

Ironing needs doing, and I really want to get some more of my knitting done - oh well we shall see.

csarina - if your veg needs a good home to go to..... ;)
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)
  • Good afternoon everyone

Pooky so sorry to hear your news. Condolences to the whole family. Hope the children will be ok soon.
Pen-Pen I have sold about 5 books on Green Metropolis. Haven't bought any yet as none of the ones I want are in stock yet. I check every so often though as the proceeds of my sales are sitting in my account. I could almost convince myself that any I buy are free. :rotfl:
Aussie glad the storm passed you by. What would we do without your wonderful posts every day?
Shez glad your car is ok - the bills can be horrible though, can't they?

    *****RANT ALERT*****
I'm sooooo angry with my 2nd boss that I daren't pick up the phone. As some of you may know, I have two jobs. No1 boss is great (though he's having too many holidays this year imo. :rotfl: ) Not so keen on my second job. It's 4hrs every Thursday and I haven't been happy there for months but I need the hours to keep me within the WTC bands.

Annnnnnnwayyy, I am supposed to be paid on the last Thursday of each month. Today, he handed me a cheque. I checked the amount and it was OK. I went to the bank to pay it in and just as I was filling out the pay-in slip noticed that he has dated it 30TH SEPTEMBER!!! 30th IS A SUNDAY!!! So I won't get my September salary until October.   It has now caused me no end of trouble as I'm having to shuffle money around in my accounts so that the direct debits that are due off on Monday can be paid. Really thinking about packing it all with him now as I'm just so p**d off.

    *****RANT OVER ******

deep breath, in, out, in, out, in, out.

Off to do the school run now. ((((hugs)))) to all those who could do with one on a cold, autumn day.

    Afternoon,

OH did eventually come back after the MOT saga the other day. I thought that taking the car for its MOT just meant taking it to the garage, waiting about an hour or so, then coming home. No - it actually involves going to his friends workshop and messing around there for a few hours, then someone else entirely taking the car for its MOT and bringing it back at his convenience, so OH couldn't possibly have come home any sooner

He has gone out again today and is now being silly - sending me texts every hour saying 'I estimate we will be home in approximately 4 hours, 13 minutes and 23 seconds' etc. Idiot

My mum is coming round this avo, so hopefuilly she will motivate me to get lots done.

    Have a good one

    Afternoon all,

Have been much lazier to-day than yesterday, have to get back to the dreaded crabs in a minute...OH will cook dinner as its steak so at least I won't have to do that. Not quite as cold here as it was yesterday, there is even some sun...find that a long scarf wound round a couple of times is great when I am out for keeping in the heat...we have put on heat in house...30 mins morning to-day and a couple of hours around 6 which seems to keep us going for the night.

Been to Aldi this am as needed to get some fruit for Christmas baking...will tot up what I have spent later, as this is coming from Christmas budget, will be spending very little on pressies so can slip the odd thing in there.

Anniestar and Pooky...so sorry to hear about your nephew and cousin...huge shock when someone is so young...hugs to you both and your families.

Aussielass...glad you got the rain, and not too much of the storm....have seen a Queensland hail storm and could do without a repeat performance.

No doubt will be back later, although I know that I should be doing other things, but I will need the fix come evening.

Kind thoughts to all in trouble of any kind

Ive had that before in the past - its so annoying annie - they are such cheapskates hanging on till the very last of the month!!! like you said maybe you should start lookin around for something else?

SOMO1 - ((Hugs)) sorry to hear about yr dad, hope he recovers soonx

Well Ive been trying to get a better mortgage rate this afternoon - Not very good so far - I can only get my payments reduced by £10-20 pm - I though I would have been able to get more off than that?

By the time i'd done that, quickly done the ironing, its time to get DS from school again! and now DD to ballet!! Where does the time go?

I'ts very chilly here in Reading, & my poor lodger is going to have to go shopping soon or freeze as she doesn't seem to have many warm clothes.
I'm a great aunt again as of last weekend, I don't have any info about the baby tho. Thats the downside of my divorce, I don't have any siblings/parents etc & was very close to my SIL & nephews, but I have no contact since the divorce. Still thats life & there are many people on here whos suffering puts it all into perspective.

:rotfl: Well I'm back. Was a bit worried as the computer froze and I was logged in here all day. Had convinced myself that the computer would have exploded/broke again_pale_ _pale_ _pale_ /something dire would have happened in my absence!!! But ok so thats good. Funeral went well(if you see what I mean) I do find the funeral mass very comforting. The priest was lovely and spoke very movingly about John and his parents.32 is no age at all.His mum was on auto pilot she is a lovely woman, always on the go, jobs all over the place and very little support.

    Hi everyone

Busy day today - didn't get my a$$ in gear early so went off late Asda to pick up prescription they had got enough of in on Tuesday, to see a friend, then town - spend £24 in £land alone! Just got back and only had cereals for breakky and a banana so far, so going to prepare some real food before I raid the bickies!
((Hugs)) Pooky, Anniestar and all others.
    Take care
