Kensington Mortgage application timescale

I thought I would share our story as it may help some one.

We have just completed on a house - mortgage with Kensington. 

We had several emails requesting information, sometimes it felt like we were repeating ourself! It definitely was one of the most stressful times of my life. When I thought we got there they would ask for another document. The last thing they requested before going to valuation was our landlords information and address. We didn't know the address as they live in Australia but they were happy to accept the name and put down our rental house as the address. 

Our valuation happened quite quickly and it wasn't long after we received a verbal mortgage offer. About a week later we received the offer in the post.

We have our valuation on Wednesday, they have just booked us in tonight.

Is the valuation being done a good sign, or am I hoping too soon?

Anyone else received their offer yet? 

We are still waiting for our employer references to be completed. Seems like they did our application in a very long winded way 🙄 

Valuation was done 3 weeks ago and they are only just checking our employment now! 

When did you submit your application @PharmT ?

Just got my offer today. The entire application took just under 5 weeks including the Christmas holidays. A week after the valuation. Good luck to everyone

We had our DIP in December, then with the Christmas break we didn't put our full application in until beginning of last week, we have had our valuation and first round of extra docs fairly quickly, they asked for an employer and rent reference, and luckily these were both done the same say and sent back, so now we wait.

Valuation was Wednesday AM, and no further questions yet. I've asked broker for an update, but he is not the quickest getting back to me xx

Any offer yet? Its been 4 weeks since mine and I just got told its with the underwriter? I dont know how much longer I am supposed to wait and what they are actually waiting for...

Ours is the same… with underwriting. Our broker said we are waiting for them to do our employment references but I sent them the emails on Monday and still no contact has been made. I just checked with our finance guy and he’s received nothing from Kensington 🙄 

I honestly don’t understand what the hold up is we are approaching week 7 of our application now. Our broker said Kensington have a process queue, so when he sends stuff in it goes through a virtual queue before it is actioned. Apparently they are running up to date at the moment but it doesn’t seem that way for us 😔

Its been 8 weeks since the application went in and 4 since the valuation. Granted they closed for a lot of Christmas, but it still seems very long. Whenever my broker calls they just tell him its with underwriting. My seller is getting a little anxious at this point so I hope it comes soon. Everyone is waiting on me.
