Kensington Mortgage application timescale

Has any one had any experience of Kensington around completion? We are due to complete in 2 days. Our Solicitor has said Kensington haven't made it easy for them and so far no far no confirmation of the funds being transferred in time for completion? 

I'm a FTB so unsure if this is a normal process or something to worry about?

Funnily enough.. I am waiting on offer but my solicitor said KM can be a pain. I asked him what sort of pain.. he said asking all sorts of questions about the house or me. Worried me a bit also as I’m keen to exchange ASAP early jan

@emlou33 we are waiting for our offer now too! 

Our valuation was scheduled for Monday and our broker said the report should be back on Kensington’s system today so it will be a miracle if we get it before Xmas. 

I’m hoping we hear from them before the new year though. We’re hoping to exchange and complete ASAP early Jan too! 

Seems stupid that they ask the solicitors questions about you when they would have done all their checks in the first place! 

Fingers crossed you hear about your offer soon, when was your valuation done?

Oh I hate the waiting!! 

So my valuation has been done about 4 weeks ago which was all fine.
ive had issues getting the amount I need because my earnings were down last year because of covid. I just submitted my December payslip this week and heard last night that they are happy now. Hoping to get offer by email today as I’d like to exchange ASAP. 

Oh also last night they asked for most recent bank statements and proof of deposit 

Hoping nothing too complicated in the offer that my solicitor has to deal with

Ah lucky you! Our valuation isn’t until Jan 6th…. No idea why such a long wait. It’s torture! That being said it does seem that once valuation instructed it means they are satisfied with everything else.

Best news ever! Just had Kensington confirm that we have our offer subject to the valuation being OK 🎉🎉🎉

We had our valuation done on 20th Dec and are STILL waiting for our offer… I knew Xmas would slow things down a little but it’s been over 2 weeks! 

@emlou33 how long was the wait between valuation and offer for you as I know you said it was quite long? 

I’ve asked our broker to chase Kensington, it’s just so disheartening to keep waiting and waiting for an offer 😔

so we had an email from our Broker on 23rd Dec to say that Kensington had confirmed the mortgage was agreed subject to valuation.

our valuation is tomorrow so we were hoping to have our offer early next week… but now I’m wondering if we were being to optimistic!
