  • @EmzJenks ah yeah 50 minutes is quite a way especially when it's both ways.
That's good and it makes sense for them to do it that way. Fingers crossed it all goes through before your son starts school so you don't have to worry about how to work around that.

I'm hoping for an update by tomorrow from kensington but it's probably looking like next week now. the silence and waiting is really getting to me now.

@lauraclay1727 when was the last time you heard from them?
  • @EmzJenks
we applied on the 16th June, they requested extra docs on the 21st June.
we know the valuation was done on 29th June. my partners employer got an email for a reference last Thursday and our landlady got an email for a reference on Monday this week.
we haven't heard anything other than that.

@lauraclay1727 my guess would be 3 working days after the last document they need is received will be your proper update. Do you know if your partners employer and your landlady sent the references back & when? They tend not to update until they've reviewed everything. I didn't even know my valuation had been done until over a week later
  • @EmzJenks
Yes the employment reference was replied to on the same day and our landlady replied on Tuesday this week.
I'm not sure how it all works. does it then take time for them to hopefully write it all up? I just hope they don't end up asking for more docs after all this time 😬

@lauraclay1727 yeah so the earliest update would be tomorrow I think if they received the landlady reference on Tuesday as it's a three working day turn around to review docs. If they need anything else from you you'll know about it tomorrow I would've thought. If you hear nothing tomorrow then I'd say that's a good sign they're preparing your offer as it took 7 working days from the last doc to get the offer.

we should hopefully both hear something around the same time. I just hope it doesn't drag on for much longer.

@EmzJenks I hope it is a 3 day turn around but my MA says it can take them a week to pick up on any updates/replies etc.
I'm also hoping that us not hearing anything for a while is a good sign 🙏

So i chased my MA today and Kensington have asked for extra documents including landlord email for reference! although they now want a different solicitor than what we was suggested to use by our new build compay we using ! nothing like throwing a spanner in the works is there. however...its not a no yet!! its just nice to hear something rather than nothing

definitley good to stay positive. but it  is frustrating after 4 weeks of waiting. hopefully they are the last bits they need now.
At least you know it's being looked at now too, I know you were worried.
