Christmas food shooping, anyone starting now?

Trust me! Oh well i quite like shooping!!!

Afternoon all :hello:

Sorry to bring up the dreaded C word already but since finding these boards a few months ago i have been determined that i am not going to scrimp on goodies this year.

I always manage to get the important stuff for dinner and boxing day but never seem to have enough money left after everything else to have wonderful biscuits, nibbles and treats.

I'm off to Mr T's when hubby gets home to do our food shop and have decided to start buying a couple of things at a time, putting them in the spare room and keeping them until christmas arrives.

Has anyone else started yet? if so what kind of things are you buying? I must remember to get bread sauce well in advance this year as last year i left it too late :rotfl:

I'm definitly NOT doing that this year. I always start early and Mr Frog ALWAYS find stuff and starts eating it!!! Then there's nothing to look forward to , as by the time Christmas is here there's nothing left! I have put a block on my Sainsburys rewards as well which gave me extra pionts. I probably wont be able to spend them until at least Dec 1st so I have to wait until then at least!

Would you believe Mr Frog had already starting looking for stuff in cupboards! ~ He's such a tadpole!

I've bought a few things-nuts, Pringles, biscuits and a packet of nachos. Last year both DDs were home for a fortnight and ate almost everything that wasn't nailed down-except for the Christmas cake of course. They didn't touch that . DH and I were eating it until the end of January.

With all the food prices going up I have been trying to hoard a few things towards Xmas each week. So far I have 3 tubes of sweets a xmas pudding and a bootle of vodka.

    Hi,
I've got an Asda Christmas card if that counts? Been putting away £5 on every other weekly shop - need to do it on every shop from now on I think.

I thought I'd start last week when I needed to boost my on line shop to get clubcard points. Unfortunately, hubby found the 2 bottles I'd bought and they are now waiting to go in recycle bin as they are empty!!

I might try again this week but will have to find a really good hiding place, Maybe the bottom of my ironing pile!!!!!!!!!!

I always start my Christmas shopping (food and pressies) after DSs birthday, which was last Thursday, so when i do my shop tomorrow, i will buy something for the Christmas cupboard. I try to buy at leat one thing each week, i dont notice the cost that way.

Our Christmas starts when i finish work, which will be the Friday before (think its the 21st this year) and thats when i start bringing all the nuts and nibbles out!!!

i keep meaning to start the food shopping but i've been avoiding the big supermarkets and trying to use up what we have in instead.

no doubt i will go to tesco's some time next week so will maybe pick up some thing on offer, like twiglets, cheeselets or biscuits.
