Morning all (just about)
Good job I'm having a pj day today because I had a rotten sleep last night. Woke up at 4am and just couldn't get back to sleep at all. I dozed over for another hour at about 7am but I don't feel great today by any stretch. Good news is I'm absolutely determined today that I'm having a day of doing nothing. Yesterday I ended up being out from half ten until six which was a bit longer than I'd intended.
So today should definitely be a nsd - then other than that I have some housework that just won't wait (only washing, dishes, hoovering and rubbish).
And plenty of crochet time.
DNMS - I don't think I congratulated you on passing your probation. :TNot giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Hi all
Sorry have been a bit awol. I am trying to reconcile my spreadsheets but not in the mood to do it - feels too much like the kind of thing I do in my paid employment! Have also done DHs invoices and the monthly total was more than expected which is good.
We have had DSs gf, his best mate and best mates gf to sleep over so DH has just been organising coffee and bacon butties for 7 of us. Like a flippin cafe he says. To be fair DS stays at other peoples houses quite a bit so its fair enough. My living room is likely to be occupied by teenage bodies for the next couple of hours.

Feeling a bit brighter now. Helped by the fact that I remembered an exciting looking button in the software that I use at work that I wanted to investigate (I am a sad sad person, but this could be a game-changer for our processing!)
Going to go for a coffee with OH after work. Am def not drinking as am still not well and do not wish to let bugs in further (or ruin 8-day streak!)LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.310 -
Also, I think I need some advice...
OH's mum has been going through a load of bits and has passed me some stuff to ebay. One of the items is a 1950s/1960s tea set that belonged to her gran. She really likes it but knows that it would never be used or displayed in her house. I have looked it up and I think it's probably worth about £100.
Here comes the tricky bit...
I love it.
I really love it. I want it for my own. It makes me sad every time I think about ebaying it. Even my OH likes it. Now we don't currently have anywhere to show it off but I have always wanted a welsh dresser one day, and it would look so perfect.
M-I-l would happily give it to me, and would never take money from me for it, but she was going to put the £100 towards her new wardrobes, and they aren't rolling in cash.

Hi gang
TOP - I love listening to your logic and then you talking yourself out of the CS thing. Now I try to buy nothing if it's not exactly what I am looking for. It's not worth making do - just spend more in the long run. I still spend money on the things that I love (my £400 handbag down to £50 in my fave 2nd hand boutique
) but overall I spend much less than I used to. In the early days I used to set myself challenges - spend £5 as a Monday lunchtime treat, buy myself a 'treat' for £3/£1 - I used to get quite creative! That was enough to set my spending bug at bay. Now I don't bother half as much. Anyway, I digress - sorry for the ramble!
CLF - I reckon I'd keep them. She'll be well happy for you having them I bet. Invite them round for afternoon tea??
HappyKitties - that is a trek and a half for you! Bleeding Sunday trains!
I've cleared out quite a bit today - feels good! Also nice going through everything just to see exactly what I've got  If only it would rub off on OH - he's got so much s hit lying around...
Right, I need to:
- Tidy round - DW and WM/TD still need to go on.
- Batch cooking - sausage casserole
- Meal plan - already been to aldi so a bit back to front but want to make sure we use up things in the right order...
- Make soup - will get 4 portions for lunch - Mon & Tues
- crochet
- free ebook
- yoga class on youtube
- update YNAB
Happy Sunday!0 -

We'll be decorating and sorting today, will need to pop to shops ant some point so with that in mind I will:
Make shopping list
Stick to list
Double check meal plan for the week
Do something wth the soda bread that I've taken out if freezer that's gone rock hard
Make packed lunches for tomorrow
Paint undercoat on cupboard in DD room
DH to do some sanding
I'll sort through DD clothes and see what can be put away to sell/ charity shop bag
Quick clean through. Gave bathroom deep clean yesterday.
Check annoying thing list and see if I can do something from that.
Maybe gym later or run outside depending on the weather.
Stay dry peeps. Purps.
Much brighter here this afternoon and we've been busy busy busy. Got some ys things at the shop so have made the following:
Blueberry muffins
Roast dinner
Cauli macaroni (x 8 portions)
About 20 portions of carrot and swede mash (all open frozen in portions using ice cream scoop and then bagged) apart from some for tonight's roast
8 Yorkshire puds (4 today 4 in freezer)
I used some of the soda bread as croutons in a salad, rest got cubed and back in freezer for croutons another day. Used up some Russian salad I made earlier in the week
I painted cupboard, DH did some sanding and painted some areas that needed touching up on wall. I sorted out DDs undies drawer and removed said drawer to garage. (Minus the smalls :rotfl:)
2 charity bags finally made it downstairs, nearer the door
Just 1 sandwich to make for tomorrow and check annoying thing list. Also good here.

Hmm tricky one... are you SURE it is worth so much though? Have you checked the sold listings on ebay (not the for sale listings, especially the US ones which ask daft prices for anything 'old', dunno if they ever sell anything - perhaps in the US?).... because tea sets are incredibly hard to sell atm, and unless it is a popular design by one of a small select number of makers, it wouldn't fetch anything like that amount. I speak as a serial seller of teasets, vases and various other tat
Also think about the cost of the packaging, which will be quite a bit if it is to get to its destination undamaged, and the postage (which you can charge the buyer for, obviously, but they will not like it if you add the cost of all the packing on top), plus the blimmin ebay fees, and even if it is worth £100, you won't end up with that much. I did see a dinner service in a specific pattern sell for over £100 at auction yesterday, but that was an almost complete dinner (and tea) service - Royal Albert Old Roses if you are interestedThere is also a super Art Deco 1930s tea set I've been coveting in the shop where I rent a space for the princely sum of £22.... (I shan't buy it though because I have quite enough teasets already :rotfl:)

madam woke me up about an hour ago. annoyingly she hardly ever wakes up oh unless I give her specific instructions to leave me alone in the morning!
Head still full of gardening. Weather forecast says it's going to rain but it doesn't look that way yet so think I'm going to finish my coffee and go down to the lottie for an hour :j should be able to finish the 1/2 small bed I didn't manage yesterday
anglepye I wanted to say why don't you grow some courgettes if you're not that greenfingered? They are super easy to grow and need very little skill
got a rude awakening when I made coffee this morning as the milk is on the turn so will make some soda bread and scones with that when I'm backI was given a kg of artichoke tubers so going to break 6 bulbs off to replant and then make some soup with the rest. While I'm at it might as well bake something as well
Depending on weather think we will go to a National Heritage castle near us
Was due to have roast pork but used the last of the xmas turkey to make a casserole yesterday and made far too much! So that will have to be lunch and dinner, and probably lunch tomorrow as well!
Need to check work calendar to see what plans are for tomorrow so I can prepare appropriate sustenance. so much better when I am in an office! usual lunches/bags/clothes ready for tomorrow
If the wind is blowing right I might even list a few bits on fleabay....
ok that'll do! Have a great day x
what a wash out today has been! I ended up having a nap for hoursgot up and oh had taken madam out so redeemed myself slightly by tidying up & polishing upstairs, did a load of washing and have made the soup mmmmm
Still need to get bags ready and bake scones and a cake. Might watch a film or play a game with oh when madam goes to sleep.
had the casserole for breakfast and again for tea - lunchtime portion leftDF as at 30/12/16

Today has been exactly what I hoped it would be.
No spending. Minimal housework. Watched a film and did lots of crochet.

CLF could you agree with MIL that she would take something for the tea set, if not the whole £100. Could you afford to do that? It seems such a shame to ebay it. A little wickedness in me thought about pretending you had sold it for her for £60/£70 but that would be sooo wrong wouldnt it?
Have been working some figures out and we have been overspending a bit so need to rein it in. DS is growing like mad and clothes for teenagers are not cheap, he did spend some of his birthday money on clothes but could do with more. Anyway, at least with a proper budget we know where we are!0
