Good day here, house all sparkly clean and feels very calm. Also went for a really good windy, and a bit rainy, walk on the beach with my friend - lovely to catch up and great to blow out the cobwebs! Followed by board games, dvd and burgers. The simple things really are the best!
Hope you are all having a lovely evening!Happiness is wanting what you have...0 -
Angelpye, do you live by the coast? I would seriously love to live by the sea :greenwithenvysmilie:
CLF I too think maybe offer her a lesser amount for the tea set.
I went out today and got another printer. I explained to the salesman what I planned to use it for and he directed me to the most expensive which had all sorts of functions I didn't need so asked to see something without all the bells and whistles. Sans bells and whistles one was only two thirds of the price of the other and capable of printing more DPI than the other one so I am quite pleased with it. I haven't set it up yet.
I also took my mum to homeb@se and BQ to look for adhesive tiles to line her kitchen cupboards (I know, but it keeps her out of trouble!) and we had lunch in a nice cafe where she is fond of their steak and kidney pudding.
A local scout group had their first ever table top sale this weekend, it's going to be once a month and is only £5 so I have reserved a table for the next one. I don't know what I'll be selling but I'm sure in a month I'll be able to dig out enough to make it worthwhile!
Dinner tonight was from another YS haul and I've been able to freeze enough for another day. It's quite exciting never quite knowing what you're going to have for dinner :rotfl:
I start a four week booking tomorrow, normally I'd be quite nervous as I've not worked there before but it's in the same company I've been at for the last year plus ive worked with the woman that booked me before so I'm not feeling too stressed.
I don't feel like I accomplished much in my week off but I did say it was going to be a 'being kind to myself' week and I do feel quite relaxed. I've done a LOT of sleeping and mid afternoon napping but have tried to stay awake this afternoon to get back into normal hours.

In bad news, one of the cats is sneezing. I'm not sure if it's a cold or she has a grass seed or something of that ilk up her nose.

FVD, sorry to hear about cat - hope its not anything serious? I have no idea about cat health? Yup, I live by the sea, just 10 mins walk but I haven't been taking advantage of this much. Must do it more as it always makes me feel better. I love the idea of the countryside but can't imagine not having easy access to the sea - have lived within walking distance for 15 years. Really feel it when I am inland which probably sounds barmy!Happiness is wanting what you have...0

LuckyPenny You asked about dental insurance plans, we get DenPlan via OHs job. It's very good. The premiums (if we paid) are low and the cover comprehensive." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

CLF - I'm not up to saying much tonight - but keep the tea set.
If you both love it - then use it, don't stick it in a display unit. We use my Mum & Dad's wedding tea set often - to the point that that there were comments the time we used mugs instead.
If MIL needs the money - can you buy something for her that she needs?
Tea sets shouldn't feel posh, they should feel loved - and you'd be surprised as to what a talking point they are.

CLF, I agree with CM - can you find a way to buy her something she needs?
Angelpye we are near the sea, but a short drive rather than a walk, and I love it. Would love to be even nearer but can't cope with the idea of being even further away from connections to cities and family! Where we are is a good compromise, and we make it to the beach pretty much weekly in the summer.
I don't have much ms stuff on my list today:
- leftovers for dinner
- spend a little time knitting the socks I'm working on
- do some more decluttering (this makes me feel so much calmer in my house, which makes me much less likely to order stuff to 'improve my home' I have noticed).
- Check MySupermarket again to see whether I can knock another couple of quid off the food shopping
- get the sourdough starter out of the fridge and start feeding it up again - we are going through so much bread at the moment! I made three 1lb loaves at the start of last week and they are almost gone.
- make DH's lunch for work.Trying to figure out a whole new life. Trying to figure out a whole new budget.
Divorcing, unclear on final debt total right now, but focusing on building a financial buffer zone.0
