Make a game pie for dinner tonight, as (I think) DS will be back, needs to be something that will feed 3, and I don't have any joints left in the freezer except for one enormous one, we are a bit fed up with mince, and I didn't want to have to buy somethingDone, DS did not reappear, so there is plenty left for all of us tomorrow (made a big pie with this in mind
)
Start a shopping list, as we are getting low on coffee, and can't run out of that  Done
HM soup in fridge for lunch Done

Morning La E
madam woke me up about an hour ago. annoyingly she hardly ever wakes up oh unless I give her specific instructions to leave me alone in the morning!
Head still full of gardening. Weather forecast says it's going to rain but it doesn't look that way yet so think I'm going to finish my coffee and go down to the lottie for an hour :j should be able to finish the 1/2 small bed I didn't manage yesterday
anglepye I wanted to say why don't you grow some courgettes if you're not that greenfingered? They are super easy to grow and need very little skill
got a rude awakening when I made coffee this morning as the milk is on the turn so will make some soda bread and scones with that when I'm backI was given a kg of artichoke tubers so going to break 6 bulbs off to replant and then make some soup with the rest. While I'm at it might as well bake something as well
Depending on weather think we will go to a National Heritage castle near us
Was due to have roast pork but used the last of the xmas turkey to make a casserole yesterday and made far too much! So that will have to be lunch and dinner, and probably lunch tomorrow as well!
Need to check work calendar to see what plans are for tomorrow so I can prepare appropriate sustenance. so much better when I am in an office! usual lunches/bags/clothes ready for tomorrow
If the wind is blowing right I might even list a few bits on fleabay....
ok that'll do! Have a great day xDF as at 30/12/16

La e I guess I was thinking about picking up new clothes for me and the children, maybe household things, rather than buying them full price. The problem is, how often do you find what you need in a charity shop right when you need it? So I wonder if I might end up just buying stuff 'in case' that we might not actually need, and be tempted into fripperies like homeware that isn't quite right, because it's super cheap.
Maybe one day it will be the right solution, so we can keep an eye out for things for the house when we have more spare cash, but not just now
In fact, I think I've answered my own question here. With my shopaholic tendencies, it's just going to be an avenue for spending that I don't need. I'm better off saving up and buying what we need when we need it and thinking through each purchase more carefully, buying secondhand if possible, but not just cruising charity shops regularly for the sake of it.Trying to figure out a whole new life. Trying to figure out a whole new budget.
Divorcing, unclear on final debt total right now, but focusing on building a financial buffer zone.0 -
ToP when the spring comes I try to get to the bootfair each week & found last year I picked up almost everything I wanted/needed. Much better variety, quality & price I found. This year I need to think of the whole year rather than just the summer!
I also try to have a rule that I only buy what I love and fits well when going to Cs' other wise I have a tendency to buy lovely things in the size I wish I was rather than the one I am!DF as at 30/12/16

TOP I thought of doing that, but I've found that any decent stuff in CS are competitively priced - I've googled the prices and I don't there's much profit in it. I was tempted to think about this idea after watching antiques road show etc! I do buy books from the CS. I've bought clothes because when I've felt the spending bug (thought it was best to get out of my system) but have ended up selling about 50% of the clothes on because I was too embarrassed to take the back!
DNMS thanks for your kind words about the bus lane incident- still got my fingers crossed. Congrats on passing your probation. I've worked for the same company for years. It must be quite nerve wracking to be in probation.
Sorted out the PayPal money debacle. Basically we got a phone from my SIL as my DD dropped hers in the sink. My BIL gave us the wrong email so the money went to the wrong person. Anyway all sorted now!!
FVD my DH goes to an NHS dentist that is really rough. However I'm very lucky to have a lovely NHS dentist it's over the other side of the city. I don't mind travelling because I'm a nervous patient. I have a check up at the end of the month which I'm dreading because I have tooth ache and I'm worried he might have to drill or even worse. I have a colleague at work that had to pay £900 for treatment recently! Gulp! Debating whether to join a health scheme. Anyone else in a scheme?
Not much on the MS front today. I've got some eBay items ending today. Fixed price. I have a watcher on a couple. Will parcel in recycled packaging if I sell.
Off to see friends for Sunday lunch. Not very MS but they are feeling depressed and isolated so I thought I'd get them out of the house and have a catch up.
Will do FPL and check market research apps as usual today.

Morning all.
DNMS, we seem to get loads of slugs and woodlice here every year and they attack everything. I don't know how to get rid of them so just gave up.
Up early as accidentally booked groceries delivery early - forgot DD isn't here this morning. She won't be back until lunch time which is unusual and I could have had the laziest of mornings. Just pondering whether it necessary for me to be up showered and dressed...I guess it is. Still gives me a chance to get on with a few things.
Today:
*Spruce up around the house
*Mop floors as didn't get round to this yesterday
*Rejiggle cupboard space to make room for months shopping - I have very few cupboards at the moment due to renovating
*All food from stores
Raining here so it will be a lazy day in. A friend is popping in for a cuppa in a couple of hours so best get a wiggle on!Happiness is wanting what you have...0 -
Morning all
FatVonD - hope your mouth is feeling ok!
Still feeling cruddy with the cold - worse than yesterday in fact. I wish it would Foxtrot Oscar!
OH in a very strange (bad) mood last night but luckily he went out to his brother's to watch the boxing so I got a bit of joining done on the blanket before crashing for the night.
Today's mission:- B/L/D from stores
- Charge phone in work
- Reconcile budget sheet with OH
- Crochet
- No alcohol
- Very early night judging by how I feel now

Grey, dark and miserable here. Have some blueberry muffins in the oven to be a bit cheery and also use up more of the mammoth bag of frozen blueberries. Enough for one more batch I think.
We'll be decorating and sorting today, will need to pop to shops ant some point so with that in mind I will:
Make shopping list
Stick to list
Double check meal plan for the week
Do something wth the soda bread that I've taken out if freezer that's gone rock hard
Make packed lunches for tomorrow
Paint undercoat on cupboard in DD room
DH to do some sanding
I'll sort through DD clothes and see what can be put away to sell/ charity shop bag
Quick clean through. Gave bathroom deep clean yesterday.
Check annoying thing list and see if I can do something from that.
Maybe gym later or run outside depending on the weather.
Stay dry peeps. Purps.0 -
4 hour round trip later to pick my daughter and friend up from the nearest practical train station-where they are travelling back from, its mission impossible with the trains on a Sunday.
So going to just plod along slowly today.
Going to clean bathroom in a minute
Want to get some food prepared as daughter bound to be hungry when she gets in.
Do some ironing-school uniform a must
And......do that blooming paperwork!!

eBay parcel posted via courier, I'm finding these are a good alternative to Royal Mail price wise.
Meet friends for posh afternoon tea which was great and also, cheaper than a meal out.
Topped up my pension before the end of the tax year.
Meters have been read, the plan is to take some of the credit and pay off the credit card.Hi everyone.
I have had good week.
- Pay day and all expenses paid too which is great.
- Taken lunch to work on two days
- Avoided doing a big shop and used up stores and freezer.
- Payment against CC so I am hoping for a better balance this month and hopefully the end of the of it.
- New car is heading my way so I have made sure I haven't filled my car up too much with fuel.
- Payment into savings
- I have forgotten to post ebay parcel so I need to do that tomorrow pronto
- Done a Tesco shop for collection
- I need to read meters to ensure that bill is accurate
- Pick up DD free £1 for world book day, which she has enjoyed0
