    Morning all,

Seems a few things going about and a couple of nasty people about! Hugs to those who need them!

Its pretty dreadful here today but I woke up sweating with a dry mouth...yup left the heating on at 20 all night! As I already have a cold which has been lingering for.e.v.e.r I feel all out of sorts. Hope fully a nice cup of tea will fix me when i finally make it out of bed....;)

    Today:

*Rearrange work space as its not working for me
*Brave putting in a big shop online
    *Vacuum downstairs
    *Clothes shuffle
    *Work,work,work
    *Breakfast and lunch from home

I am having a chip supper tonight with a friend and we are watching a film on Netflix at his. Haven't been to his in a while and I know he has made loads of changes in his house so will be nice to see his progress. Feels like such a treat but he won't know that as 1. He has takeaway at least once a week 2. I haven't told my friends about my debts, they are all pretty high earners but they know know I chose to drop to a low income. He is particularly good with money and I couldn't take the shame.
Still fish and chips and a good catch up and chill session is very welcome!

Hope you all have a good day :D

    Morning all :)
I am an early riser too, just after 6 today. Sadly, it is raining again here :( Was supposed to be taking part in a community litter pick, but think the weather will put paid to that! Oh well, I can do my normal bit of picking up rubbish on the verge and pavement along our terrace between bouts of rain, I suppose! OH wants to go to an auction viewing, so I will probably go with him. Apart from that:

Dog walks, again, between bouts of rain as small mutt doesn't believe in it :rotfl: He had a nightmare yesterday, took both dogs to the local park to run about, which they love. Small dog suddenly developed a limp, which at first was attributed to a leaf or twig in his fur. It wasn't that, so we investigated for something more serious  No cuts, thorns or anything like that, and a while later he was back to normal. I think he might have got stung by one of the small stinging nettle seedlings that are coming up in the grass. It is a terrible affliction when you are trying your hardest to convince a passing cat who is much bigger than you, how fierce you are :rotfl:

HM meals from stores, not sure what to do for dinner yet

DS coming back at some point today, for a short while, then off again. Don't think he is planning to be here for dinner, must find out.

Fold washing dried yesterday, didn't get to it last night :o
Get OH to help me put the lounge curtains back up
    Any surveys that are available
Post a couple of ebay items, and consider which of the ending items to relist

There is probably more, will come back later to update :)

DNM - budget friendly indeed as its on me after he helped me out with some work in the house recently, again. The fix wasn't planned but urgent so taking out of house budget. He has helped me a few times now and won't take money although has saved me ££££ so takeaway is on me. We get together at other times and go dutch but when he has helped me I insist on picking up the tab...it has always been cheaper than getting someone out and our friendship is more than worth the gesture! :D

FVD Im jealous of your surgeries toilets! Haha! Im at the dentist too this morning, scrape and polish (makes my toes curl)

Had an unexpected dd come out yesterday for DH magazine subscription. Promptly emailed to cancel them but turns out that payment has just got him them til August so he'll be happy for a few months yet.

Also made me laugh, I didn't realise how long ago I subscribed to it for him, they couldnt locate my account because it was still in my maiden name!! Only been married 9 years lol

Not so budget friendly is a teacake and cuppa in the cafe whilst waiting for my dental appointment, I found some money in my glovebox this morning though so it doesn't upset ynab!

Hope everyone has a nice Friday

Not really getting anything done at the minute, out of routine as my daughter is back and forth to school-final few weeks before she officially leaves ready for exams.

Did chase up on some paperwork yesterday and plan to do some more today.
Checked my banking and updated direct debits that have gone out.
    Checked quidco.
Have to buy cat litter today but do not plan to spend anything else(still tracking all of my spends and receipts so I can properly start the grocery challenge next month).
My plan is not to buy a main shop (a lot of it will be cat food) until next week as I have a Tesc@ voucher.
Would love to do what FVD suggested and feed the machine with all my copper:D:D
Free leftover pancakes from my mum-handy for daughter's breakfast:j
Angelpye u can't beat a chippy supper and catch up-enjoy
CCL some people are so cruel and mean

Hugs to everyone who have colds/bugs and dental problems at the minute.
Have a good day everyone x

  • My to do list is sooooo long today. But I have so much to do that it's likely to be a NSD as I probably won't leave the house!

    For starters, I need to:
    - iron and put away all the laundry (money saving: only ironing the bare minimum).
    - bake biscuits for the weekend.
    - bake mincemeat cake to use up random jar of mincemeat (and give us nice treats for the weekend - the biscuits are for clients).
    - check bank accounts/YNAB - not expecting anything to come out, but want to make sure it's up to date before the weekend.

There is loads more. I'll come back and add to the list when I've done all of that!
Trying to figure out a whole new life. Trying to figure out a whole new budget.
Divorcing, unclear on final debt total right now, but focusing on building a financial buffer zone.

    Afternoon Frugal Friends,
Bit of a wibbly start....failed to take my own advice last night about never going to bed with a headache without taking a painkiller........so woke up & I'd still got it. So there I was sitting up in bed at 5a.m with a glass of water, codiene & the emergency pot of raisins from my handbag. It's gone now, so have achieved a fair few bits of money saving stuff:
*Cleaned whole house using just Stardrops, loo cleaner & washable cloths.
*Yet another charity bag through the door arrived just in time to be pressed into service for a bin liner.
*Did a few surveys but not all that were available as the tracker pad on our laptop is getting a bit pathetic & it was annoying me too much to continue.
*Changed household linens & loaded into washing machine for a cheap overnight wash at some point.
    *Finalised meal plans
    *Wrote shopping list.
*Transferred vouchers & gift cards into my purse ready for city centre trip tomorrow, also some cash from our Clothes & Household Savings Piggies. Not planning to buy anything in these categories but if I'm not prepared, you can guarantee I will spot an unmissable bargain & end up messing my budgets up.
*Make packed lunch for tomorrow. City centre first, then supermarket on the way home where we will arrive in perfect time for lunch. If we have a couple of filled rolls & crisps with us, that will stop the call of the Lesser spotter cheese & ham panini (with its little friend the bowl of nice hot chips!)
*Removed bottom layer of wax from a lovely scented candle jar I received for Christmas. It's now in the wax burner where it will fragrance the room for another couple of times.
*Checked ebay listings. Have picked up another watcher but it's really slow going now as this is a very picked over bunch of items that have been re-listed heaps of times......free to re-list though & every now & again, I shift another one, so am not too bothered.
*Froze leftover curry from last night. 2 portions, so it will do us another 'light day' on our diet.
*No downstairs heating on till much later. Chilly & wet here today. Cat was excellent barometer, coming in with soggy fur & trying to dry himself on my tights.
*Dinner as per meal plans (meal planning really works for us) - turkey chilli I batch-cooked after Christmas & some of mr f's lovely jacket wedges.
    *NSD
*All free leisure for me today - sock knitting, catch up with watching 'Roots', reading a (free) magazine & immersing myself into a lovely hot bubble bath for the full works.
Have a good Friday all........CCL, your favourite day!

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Afternoon all, I seem to be the only one that has no trouble sleeping as I've only just woken up :rotfl: though This *is* my being nice to myself week though.

Dawn, I feel your pain with the litter picking, we seem to live just the right distance from the supermarket to eat a sandwich and then drop the box on the grass verge

I've just had toast and tea for breakfast as my DS appears to have eaten the hog roast sausage rolls the thought of which were the only thing that got me out of bed at all today!

We've all run out of anti perspirant so I might take a trip to the £ shop to replenish and will also buy some air freshener as I suspect we've all been using the anti perspirant as air freshener and that's why it ran out so quickly. I managed to park for free in town yesterday so will try for those spaces again and I'm going to take another trip to Debenh@ms with my gift voucher as I've been pondering on a purse I saw. I like to never buy anything first visit and then if I forget what it was I was contemplating I know it was just an impulse buy but I have been giving the purse some thought overnight so I think I probably do want it.

I need to fold and put away a lot of washing before it gets too creased and wash up a roasting pan I left to soak overnight.

Dinner tonight will be courgette and salami pasta for which I have all the ingredients.

    Happy Friday everyone!

I managed to get just the yellow and black working on my printer which was enough to print out my label so I will drop the box to the shop.
