Although I'll manage some SW friendly meals before going away at the weekend there won't be too many. Today I've had my HEB Puffed Wheat breakfast and we're out to lunch so not sure what I'll fancy.

Have a good break when it comes lantanna.:)

saverupper, why don't you make SW meals for the family with tweaks for the 'awkward customers'. So, as an example, sausage and SW chips with beans but mushrooms, tomatoes, baby corn or whatever extra for the rest of you. I'd be inclined to plate up the basic sausage, chips and beans and then have a bowl of the extras or pile your plates high with all the Speed food and they'll see that you're having more (and better IMO) by eating well.

I can't remember how old all the children are but if they can I'd let them help themselves to choice of breakfast cereal/yogurt/toast, have whatever (within reason) as a packed lunch or school meal and then insist that dinner was based (as above) on SW. That way there'd be minimal extra work for you as I'm sure juggling different meals plus the extra work is one reason for going off plan.
  • Morning all :)

First day on plan since being here as been away for the weekend - I can never stick to plan when I am with my brother, he cooks delicious food but it's not SW friendly plus we do like a drink or 5 :D - he's coming for Easter, so that won't be SW friendly either.

    B: porridge (HEB) & 1/4 (HEA) + options (2)
L: chicken salad with mayonnaise (1)
D: pork chop, cabbage and potatoes
    Snacks: grapes & ff yoghurt

I don't drink ordinary milk, only almond milk and it's not good in coffee (I did try for a while) so have a level tsp coffee-mate light in each cup and have max 4 coffees a day - only 2 so far, so that's 1.5 syns

Going to the local shop at lunchtime so may buy some Alpen Light Bars, crispbreads and cheese (to top up HEA).

Weigh-in tonight so wish me luck LOL!
Target: 7lb at the moment - there's a lot to lose!

lush It's the NAS milk drink that's 4 for a 200ml bottle. I got muddled, the smoothie has yogurt and oats.

Sorry to hear you didn't fancy any dinner.

I think syns wise that's not so bad for a milkshake but littlie would have my guts if she saw me drinking any!

I went to Aldi this afternoon and managed to buy some of their lamb rogan josh which is only 1 syn per pack - it was really nice, quite spicy, but I'd chopped up tomato, cucumber and onion for speed and mixed it into natural yogurt so that helped cool it down. The lamb was really tender. Shame we haven't got Aldi or Lidl closer to us - this is a very affluent area and I don't think it would be appreciated!

    LL :)

I need to find out which Rogan Josh this is - can anyone post a pic on the Facebook group or a link?
    plan for tomorrow:
    breakfast: melon
lunch: pulled pork and some salad/pickles. I am going to portion and freeze the rest for quick grab and go meals before I get bored of it ;)
tea: either creamy mushroom chicken tonight with rice and pickles/salad (20 syns for the jar so 5 syns for my portion - will box up one normal serving and one half serving to ensure we don't go over sizes) or chicken/turkey salad depending on how bother I can be when I get home/how ill I am still feeling :)

    well that changed straight away!
breakfast: heb Weetabix with milk from hea, cup of tea with milk from hea and a big orange
lunch: salad (just lettuce, cucumber, green pepper, cherry tomatoes) with 1 tbsp. left over pasta (llittlie snaffled the rest this morning!) a hard boiled egg and 3 seafood sticks cut up. 9g mayo - I think 1tbsp is 15g which is 2 syns but calling this 2 syns for ease of tracking
tea: remembered to pull chicken out so either chicken tonight @ 5 syns or a chicken salad. will decide after lunch time call to hubs
enough syns left for a hot choc of some description tonight. probably a Cadbury freddo one @ 1syn for 6g :)

Iceland Carrot Fries - (Had to take out link as new poster)

Nothing in the SW site listing so put it through the syns calculator

45 syns for whole pack if oven bake - 100g = 7.5 syns - I expect because of the oil in it.

on my lunch time walk I picked up another tub of the Freddo hot choc (£1.50 in Sainsburys) for 1 syn it's pretty darn good. It doesn't look appetising without a dash of milk in my opinion but I have milk to spare :) perfect sweet hit for the 3pm slump

Also picked up a small jar of the biscoff spread for £1 in the poundshop. it's 4.5 syns per tbsp. but is exactly like the biscuits (1.5 syn each) and I think a tbsp. would be far too much.

also snagged a bargain with a wholemeal crustless loaf reduced to just 29p

can anyone help with the syns in sainsburys wholemeal hot cross buns?

I have re-entered the mental battle of gym membership (probably got one day a week I can make use of it for me, and one day a week where i can potentially take littlie 'swimming' though lets be honest I'd not get much swimming done with a 3 year old!) vs Slimmiing world (which would get me something a little more social, out of the house an evening a week - even if I take littlie with me and some extra encouragement...) bah I hate my anxiety and my inability to make up my mind!
