Use the water from defrosting your fridge.

The water vapour that collects as frost in your fridge is pure, like rain.

Once defrosted it is still pure and is "distilled" any way

The only thing to watch for is loose peas in it :rotfl:

http://www.yorkshirefragrance.co.uk/ViewItem.php?ItemID=198&PHPSESSID=70fdbab5463b49e60148c34c5ae13739 I knew I would be able to find the cheaper one somewhere! You only use a couple of drops so depending how often you iron (I do what is NEEDED only!) can last for ages.

Distilled water is made by boiling water, and collecting the steam, which is almost pure water. *Hardness* in water is caused by dissolved mineral salts, which reamin behind as the pure water is boiled away. Not easy to do at home.

There will be a short test later :p

I would just use water from my Brita filter jug? Is this not right?

Mum uses water taken straight from the side of the Malvern Hills which her and Dad collect for drinking! Purer than pure!

 I would pressume filtered is better than normal, but like others have said many use normal without problems.

Most fridges have a drain tube from inside the fridge. Usually gets gunked up with something.. yuk.
Well the drain tube goes outside to the back of the fridge and eventually drips onto the compressor part to evaporate back into the kitchen.
Ours sort of broke (shoved too hard against the wall).
So we diverted the drain tube into a plastic pop bottle and collect the water.
Absolutely ideal for the iron and the indoor water feature.
  • i believe water that is collected in a condenser tumble drier is distilled.
