Ironing Water

Does anyone know a cheap source of deionised water? We seem to get through so much! If it's really 5l for £5 in Halfords that's more expensive than in Tesco (where it's only 1l bottles but they're less than £1).
Could I use tap water with a drop or two of vinegar to neutralise the limescale-ness? Would that kill my iron and/or make my clothes smell of vinegar?

It's probably already been mentioned but the cheapest source of deionized water is your local garage - it's what you use to top up car batteries. Our local garage sells a litre for about 50p or thereabouts - add a few drops of lavender oil and you're away.0

Wow - I'm impressed at the people who have time to iron their bed-linen - I'd like mine ironed but I resent the half an hour (ish) it takes me to iron my clothes for the working week so I can't see me ironing my bedlinen (if anyone wants to volunteer however .... :-))Never let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.:beer:0

never used fancy ironing water, but do keep a spray bottle of water with just a drop of two of lavender oil in to spray clothes when I am ironing if the clothes have had to be dried indoors (like today :-( ) so that they smell fresh.0

Hi.
Have used it once and i think is a complete waste of money.
I did try once putting a little fabric conditioner in with the normal water but it seemed to clog up the holes.
What i use now is one of those plant spray things with either conditioner or fabreeze diluted and then spray that directly onto the clothes and then iron.
Works for me.
