  • Morning everyone

At work again - so just a quick post. Just been to Mr T's to buy the ingredients for the cakes I am making for the MacMillan Coffee Morning on Friday - £15.61  Luckily work are paying - but it still seems like a lot  I'm making fresh gingerbread with lemon icing, mini key lime pies, millionaire's shortbread and chocolate cherry cupcakes - all ala Nigella ;)

We're charging £1 for a cake and coffee - does this seem okay

Anyway great to see you back Ticklemouse - your posts always inspire me :D

I, too, amd enjoying your blogs Hardup Hester - keep 'em coming :D

DD has football practice straight after school, then we rush home and get washed and dressed for Brownies - somehow fitting dinner in amongst it all. I grabbed a "ready meal" out of the freezer this morning - HM sausage and pasta bake - to defrost so I can just heat that up when we need it - thank heavens for OS :p

Anyway better go I've rambled enough

    Have a great day everyone

Queenie and MATH - where are you
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)
  • Stressedout - I think £1.00 is ideal for a coffee and cake, especially for fundraising events.
    £4000 challenge

    Currently leftover - £3872.15
  • Hello everyone,

I'm on a bit later today. I'm soooooooooooooo tired. :D Been shopping all day. :j:j It's been ages since I shopped and decided to have a *me* day. I got 2 summer tops, 1 dress, denim 3/4 pants, sunglasses for moi. Just had the fashion parade. The other bits and pieces were things for the house like a new butter dish & some other kitchen stuff. I got DGS some bubble bath. Just had a lovely day generally browsing.

XDIL dropping down DGS next Friday for 2 weeks so that will be lovely. DH got a pay rise. :T DD's car was $400 so I had to lend her $300. She's going away for the weekend for a hens party and she can't possibly afford the car as well as the party weekend. She get's paid monthly. I don't mind, she pays me straight back. The car has been the biggest money pit for her lately. Everything that's gone wrong has.

Scuzz & Donny Hope you feel better soon.
Annie Wondered where you were. Happy to hear that you're feeling better now. (((hugs)))
Hope you all have a lovely day. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))) if you need them.....

SOM when we did the teas for the open days at the garden we used to charge 55p for cake and 45p for tea.........but thats was 7 years ago, so I think £1 for a slice of good cake is quite fair....make sure they are decent slices, I used to get 16 slices out of a 12" gateaux. You will find people are prepared to pay more as its a charity do anyway....

Coffee morning went off fine, a few more people came inclusing the lady who used to live in our flat, she is living in the guest room at the moment, her daughter flies back to Australia tomorrow, she is getting her bed etc delivered today, but cannot get the carpets delivered until later this week, so guess she is going to be in the guest room for a few more nights yet.

We have replanted the flower trough at the front door, pansies, cyclamen and some tulips for the spring......we are going back to the garden centre tomorrow for some tiny tete a tete daffodils, I will make this place look less like Colditz if it kills me.............Cannot wait for the builders to do the porch, that will help, I might take some photos and post them, then you can see what I mean.....

OH has another date at the bowls club this afternooon. I have a card making class next week, want to sew out some embroideries to use, so will have a go this afternoon whilst he is out, have picked out some flower designs that will go in a small aperture. Can also play with the designs to make frames etc for a message.

Just cooking lunch as OH has to be down at $pm, toad in the hole and veggies, no spuds..... never have spuds when we have yorkie.....just loads of red wine gravy..........yummy.

I had a much better night last night.....still feeling a bit 'hung over'......OH has just given me a parcel....the Seditol I ordered yesterday....that was quick.......I find Victoria Health are very good. Previously I ordered something and it did not arrive, phoned and they despatched the order again 2 days later both lots arrived together....I phoned and they told me 'have the second lot on us' very refreshing to find a Company like that.

Lunch smells as if its ready so better go and deal with it...........
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

ellie2012- I know its really sad isn't it but I just do love getting my name mentioned. Perhaps I was ignored as a child. Perhaps I still am . Thanks for the mention anyway.
Actually I am a really happy person - nearly all the time - it must be just me

    Good afternoon everyone,

Not much going on here, im also sleeping really badly at the moment (but nothing new there) and its starting to catch up with me - i should be cleaning while the LO is asleep, but i really do not have the energy to do anything!!!

Have kept on top of the washing, its all over the house at the moment, as the last couple of days have been really showery so i havnt been able to get it outside - im hoping that tomorrow will be better as i want to get all the bedding done in the next few days as i didnt get it done last week, and although i dont obsesivly (sp) need to do it every week, i do like to and now its almost 2 weeks, im wanting it done. I have extra sheets etc to change, thats not the problem, its getting whats washed dried which causes the problems!!!

Chalky - give Plymouth a cheer for us whilst you are at the footie!!!!

TM - lovely to see you posting, i do hope things get moving quickly for you soon xx

((HUG)) to everyone who wants or needs one, i really cant remember anything else at the moment, sorry!!!

Have a lovely day, take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
