Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Wednesday 26th September. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Where are you all?
Woke up at 5 due to someone snoring very loudly!
Trying to remember where I tied up my paperwork while the visitors were here as there is a cheque I need to pay in and going into town today after Podiatory Clinic - will find out what I have to do for this swollen tendon, it does seem to be getting worse not better ATM:mad: Not bad only taken them from end of June to now to find out what it is!
OOOPS! looks like I missed the 7 off the year:o
After town will go and visit my Dad, then depending on the results on my foot need to organise a ferry and start packing:eek:  or not as the case may be.
:grouphug: All round, thinking of all those not posting ATM or minimal postings due to circumstances:grouphug: .
Take care
DG

Hi donny-gal and all who follow. (((hugs))) to all in need. Didn't get time to catch up on yesterday's thread because I babysat DGS and DGD while their parents went to open evening at school. I had the pleasure and fun of bathing them as well (the children, not the parents!) and it was a lovely evening. When I got home, I was just in time to watch Jamie Oliver - last one of what has been a brilliant series. Recorded the programme about living on wild food, to watch while I'm ironing, and watched Tribe, brilliant but very moving. The tribe - or what is left of them - live in the rainforest of Borneo which is slowly being stolen from them by loggers. I felt very sad after watching it.
Plan today is a good clean of the house (I have an awesome collection of cobwebs), finish turning the spare room into a craft-and-present-wrapping room, visit the gym, do something with some pork tenderloin for dinner and make a birthday cake to take to my mum when we spend Friday and Saturday with her, and try and catch up with my knitting. Have just been reading a new thread about handknitting and it has spurred me on to get my current projects finished (some Mr Bean teddybears for Christmas pressies) and sort out my huge stash of wool.
Went to bed last night and woke after an hour, came downstairs for a read of the paper, went back to bed and - bliss- actually conked out for the rest of the night, so I'm feeling a bit more refreshed this morning. The last few nights have been pretty rough.
Hope everyone is OK; off to have a shower - will catch up later.

Morning
Donny, hope you get your foot sorted.
Think everyone has stayed in bed as it is cold and dark, mind you we have a lovely red sky, so if you are a shepherd, be warned
Work today, so something nice in the slow cooker for when we get home. I don't know whether to put a jumper on or a short-sleeved top, I'll decide after I've been out with the dog.
Hope everyone has a good day xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Morning donny-gal (and mrs mix know your here lol) and all who follow cross post.
Only just got up so running slightly behind but have to have my coffee and mse time before i start the day!
Had a great evening last night, ds3 went to his friends for tea, and the rest of us spent the night glueing, painting and sticking, ds1 was making a start on one of the models he has to make for his homework projects, and of cause dd couldnt just sit and watch so me and her decorated a old sweet tub whilst ds1 made a start on his model of the unknown soilders tomb. Its looking great..im really proud of him.
Plans for today, tidy up, and bit of ironing.

Morning all
Off to work in a few mins.
I need to have words with the lodger, she's joined facebook, beebo & everything similar & has no restrictions on any of them, I need to tell her to change it, if the kids at school find her, which they will, she'll get all sorts of hassle. God, it's worse than having the bl**dy kids at home.
Hope everyone has a good day
Hugs Hester

Good Morning All
Quite chilly here in Essex today. Nothing exciting planned just a pop into another village to get wrapping for ds' bithday and will treat myself to a posh coffee. Need to wait in this morning for a delivery though - had a photo ive taken out on canvas and its coming today - not bad I only ordered it on Monday. Its to go in the dining room which has a very bare wall and Ive been looking for a picture for ages.
OH will be with me again today as there was no work last night again (luckily we still get paid). Have a horrible job to do today, need to speak to one of our clients as one of our drivers is becoming a complete pain in the bum. He moans constantly to them and me each day about his job - its really getting everyone down. I now need to look for another driver which is one of the worst parts of my job but I cant be having it anymore.
Some paperwork, housework and ironing to do today - no idea whats for dinner.
Apologies as my thanks button itsnt working again, (((hugs))) if needed.
Have a good day.x0 -

Morning all
I've had my breakfast and sorted the boys out but am back sat in bed while "he who tells me he is god's gift" (yes really :rotfl:) is getting ready for work in the main bedroom. I find it so much better if I don't actually set eyes on him. He seems to have got some allergies lately, which are obviously stress related so he's sneezing madly but if he thinks I will be cleaning his room he has another think coming :rotfl:
So, today I need to visit my mum and do any cleaning/shopping etc for her that is needed. Before I go I'll put DW and WM on and maybe even the BM. Will do a quick swish and swipe where necessary too. I'll have lunch at mum's so won't be back till after I've done the school run (I can collect next door's boy from my mum's instead of rushing home to get him, as his school is only 200 yds away from mum's)
Tea will be pasta with a HM tomato and bacon sauce. Quick and easy and my boys will eat it. They can have carrots/salad with it too.
I'm currently trying to work my way through all those unlabelled tubs/bags of HM food in my freezerI had soup for lunch yesterday - I think it was plain old leek and potato but it could very well have been a variation on it. Whatever, it was still very nice, with a hunk of HM bread then a huge banana and frozen berry smoothie afterwards. (At least it wasn't stewed apples because I've done that before - when frozen, apples can look remarkable similar to soup :rotfl:)
So, bigs hugs to everyone and Hester - loving your blog. I too have it bookmarked. I'll pm you soon.
Have a fab day everyone

yyeeee hhhaaaa! pay day!
and all my overtime from last month is there! have been very good and put most of the extras in to my savings accounts. means the car loan money is all there now a year ahead of schedule! which means I will have an extra £70 every month to play with now.
bad news though, we had quotes for new doors yesterday so it will soon be spoken for
today must finish my winter tubs for round the front door and do some weeding. If it stays dry might hoover the car.
meal wise its lamb burgers for tea.x x x0 -
Morning everyone
Haven't posted for a couple of weeks as I've not been feeling up to it. Given myself a bit of a talking to and starting to feel better.
Although I haven't been posting, I have read the thread most days so ((((hugs)))) to those who are poorly, not sleeping, having family problems, bereavements, etc. Too many to mention individually.
W**k today but it hasn't been too bad this week.
Going to have to keep a very tight rein on the purse strings this month as (1) it's DS's birthday at the end of October and he hasn't made up his mind what he wants so I can't hunt around for the best price (so I'll probably end up paying top dollar at the last minute  ) (2) he has been given a place on a school trip costing £130 which has to be paid by 14th Oct (plus spending money of course) and XDH won't contribute as much as he should - less said there, the better  . (3) Need to organise my mum and dad's Christmas presents so we can take all the pressies to Scotland at half-term. All the money that I had saved up for stuff like this was eaten up with my car repairs so I will have to do some imaginative budgeting this month.
So, lunch today is leftover pasta in a gorgeous roasted veg sauce and dinner is leftover chilli. Made enough chilli yesterday for at least six portions so I can freeze a couple. Can see leftovers being the theme this month. :rotfl:
Have a wonderful Wednesday. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."
