Hello,
hope you get a good sleep soon mothernerd.
Had my usual weekend absence plus two days off while DH was in London for work. Will have to do a lot of catch up reading but it will have to wait till tonight I think.
Just a quick update. Started our bedroom and got all the wall paper stripped, some minor joinery done, and most lining paper put up (room is a bl**dy puzzle of recesses, windows, sockets, doors etc. which makes it really time-consuming to wallpaper). Also painted three coats white on the weird fake cherry wood recess we have behind out bed that looked very 80's. Built our new bedside tables and they look fab. Still a fair bit to do but getting there. The two days off felt very rushed but felt good.
So quite spendy too. A couple of trips to B&Q, grocery shopping and paid the remainder for DD's party.

Aww Thrifty putting me to shame really need to get on with painting my woodwork in hall and landing but can always find something else to do instead.
Must of been something in the air couldn't sleep last night at all either Mothernerd. Stomach felt acidy so got up drank milk and ate ginger biccies. Result overtired now, desk swamped in work.
Loving my new Fitbit got in yesterday teatime and managed to get 7000 steps on it and 23 floors. Even sat at my desk today managed nearly 2K just jumping up and down around office.
No spending for me today, no intention of going near any shops.
Mothernerd will have a walk after work today. Everything is just coming into bloom now it is lovely just hope I stay awake long enough.LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -
I have fallen off the wagon these last few days, don't know why but getting brews & the odd snack out and even before I've drunk/eaten them I regret it.
The car's back in today for washer bottle and brake pads which is going to have to go on the clear cc, hopefully be able to pay half off straightaway and the rest on payday so starting next month with it clear. Means there won't be anything above what's budgeted going on the others though.
We're camping on the last weekend of this month which is paid for already and planning lots of cheap campside cooking and one meal out when we're meeting with my lil bro & his girlfriend for Sunday lunch.
We go to all our local parks frequently with little man and pooch and they do cheap brews which I don't mind as a treat as it goes to the park funding. We walked through the park today to and from toddler group but didn't stop to use the playground as it was miserable and wet. It's nice seeing all the buds coming out on the trees and little man spotting all the daffodilsI'm just browsing whilst I finish my brew and then taking pooch for a walk in the rai .

Evening everyone
Mothernerd - congratulations on your weightloss. I feel your pain with not 'getting going' this week. I've been like this for most of the month. Mad busy at work, rushed off my feet and not sleeping too well. It's been a strange old month. Mentally I feel fine, but I just don't seem to have enough hours in the day at the moment to get everything done that I need to.
I've been taken over by real life the past couple of days - work, kids activities, parents evening etc. I can't believe that there are still another 2 full weeks until the Easter holidays. Hopefully the weather will pick up by then though - we're off to Scotland for a few days to celebrate my big birthday. We last went on holiday to Scotland for my birthday in 2013 and it snowed pretty much the whole time then as well...
No use it or lose it for me today - it's rained constantly since about 4am...Not giving up

Hello all
Today was a bit of splurge day. No chance of me hitting 20 days.No Spend November 2/15 and SPC 1340 -
use it or lose it - been raining heavily much of the day, but in between I did manage to get outside in the garden and pick some dandelion leaves for the guinea pigs (kept them inside today, so they were missing munching the lawn) and look at all the pretty bulbs around and checked out all the buds on our trees
Also managed to burn a heap of confidential waste in the chiminea - was a bit smoky in the damp weather, but as no one had washing out on a day like today, I'm sure it was ok
Had to buy some claimable items so took the opportunity to also buy some spinach whilst out as A1di didn't have any before - also bought 2 red noses ready for Fri
Today I am thankful for
* the quick work of the police officers in London. My thoughts go out to the injured and the families of the injured and also the murdered POI
* ready prepped meals in the freezer
* being in the right frame of mind to tackle paperwork - I dealt with loads and the office looks better for it (just need to persuade OH to do his.....)
* an easy to watch tv programme earlier whilst I was ironing

Use it or Lose it: I love getting out to parks and in order to honour this thread took a detour on my way to work to go past one! So many beautiful spring flowers.
Also thinking of London tonight - my bro is a police officer down there.0 -
I'm off to a park tomorrow. It's a country park near mum's and has 2 play areas I promised dd I'd scope out for when she comes up with me during the Easter hols.
Today I am grateful for not getting toooooo soggy (only moderately so), for being able to meet up with big sis, for getting to see dad's house completely empty (maybe for the last time, depending on the speed of the sale), for jaunty primroses, for swathes of daffodils, for getting out for a walk when the rain finally stopped, for positive chats with mum, for ys eggs, for safe shelter, for a run ti look forward to tomorrow (in the aforementioned park).NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
So nearly made it another NSD but I am stuck on NSD#5. Ended up going to the supermarket for emergency sandwich fillers. £1.66 . So annoying! Still, it could have been worse, it could have very easily been much much worse.
I am using up all the ends of white paint I seem to have accumulated in the shed. Using it before it dries up into a paint pancake and I lose it. Just painting the woodwork, like a few of us it seems, but the difference between a dull dark brown and a gleaming white skirting board is HUGE!! The same goes for the door surrounds. Amazing! I am however boring myself to tears, and wonder if I will ever have anything interesting to talk about when DH comes home. I am sure he just nods and smiles and zones out. DIY / Home improvements are soooo not his thing. I shall have to take up sorcery, or espionage, or something.
Might just be the paint fumes though (does anyone else use the onion trick?)
Anyway, goodnight all.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Evening everyone,
Today I am grateful for:- Some sunshine at last!!!
- The friendly lady in the Barbers I go to
- My houseplants
I've been missing in action again I know!!!
I realised the last few days how little it takes to knock me off my perch - I need to learn to build emotional resilience somehow - and not take things to heart, or latch on to stuff I can't resolve. I need to let it go and live in the 'now' more. My mood goes - and all my self-control and best laid plans with it. Total self-sabotage!!! GRRRR.
On the plus side - being positive - I have trimmed by houseplants - chucked one as it was totally dead - though salvaged a few shoots I can re-pot, and am in the process of re-potting some new small plants. Have stuff on order to ensure they grow better (right soil etc). It felt good to be nurturing something.
Mothernerd, I loved what you said about treating yourself like you would a child - that's what I try (being a good parent to myself) - though when I'm down I just reach for whatever will give me an instant fix (food, spend etc) rather than learn to just sit with it... Will try harder.
With that I am taking myself off to bed... I will catch up on the well-being/use it or lose it posts in the next few days... Sorry I haven't commented much on everybody's posts either - I am reading them - and it's lovely to hear what you're all up to. It's quite strange going from keeping tabs on everyone as Captain to taking more of a back seat! I feel like I'm neglecting you all haha. I am silly lol.
Thanks Mothernerd for keeping us going - and well done on the weight loss.⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐
