Within basic 2 sec rule.
Also overtaking vehicles on left on dual carriageway which makes it worse.
Any distraction, your dashcam will be filming your own mistakes & crash.0 -

I do.
Whilst not exactly tailgating it looks like about a 1 second gap from the video.
I know my NextBase makes things appear quite bit further away than in reality.
Were you that close when doing 70?0 -
Basically, standard dashcam.
"Look at this numpty..."
Meh. But, while you're here, have you ever considered taking a test yourself?0 -
You were driving too close.

Check the time on the video, use the bus as a marker and you will see I was well over 2 seconds behind the RR.
Totally agree about undertaking, my point in my initial post was the RR should have moved over to the inside lane.0 -

No, using the lampposts as a fixed reference it's about 1 second.
As for him moving to the inside lane, it looks like he thought you were going to undertake him, so did the sensible thing and stayed where he was until the situation clarified.0 -

The bus is a moving object so using it as a marker is pointless. Fixed points such as lamp standards suggest you are between 1 and 1.5s behind.
Luckily, the car's computer thinks everything is OK. Make sure you tell the insurance company that when you plough into the back of someone who doesn't accelerate away.0 -

He had ample time to move to the inside lane after overtaking the bus, he stayed in the outside lane to stop me overtaking him, then when he thought I was going to get past him by undertaking he accelerated to a point where it was obvious I would not get past him, he then braked again even though the vehicle in front of him was still some distance away. May I add I had no intention of undertaking him and moving back into the outside lane, I was turning off to go onto the A1068.0
