Yesterday I had the misfortune to be behind an idiot who slowed down to 54 mph in the fast lane of the A1 to stop me getting past, I moved into the lafthand lane as I was turning off at the next junction, the car in front thought I was going to undertake him so he accelerated.
If I pass this video onto the police will they do anything or am I wasting my time?
The video can be seen here
    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=h-QqawRFrgQ
    Thanks.

Well firstly you should have shown a minute or so before the incident aswell and not 2 minutes of video afterwards. It seems you just uploaded the 3 minutes segment that the camera produces.

But anyone who calls the overtaking lane the "fast lane" is in the wrong by default unfortunetly ;)

Can you check the time set on dashcam - the time and the radio programme don't match. Showing 17:22 but sounds like Steve Wright so, unless that is being streamed, the time evidence is suspect.

Thanks for pointing that out, the clock was incorrectly set, I've now sorted it.

Seems you don't want to listen, nothing much happening here.

If you're following an idiot just back off.

    You're driving too close anyway.

Don't think I was driving too close, neither did the cars computer.

That is correct, not sure as to why showing any video evidence before the incident has any bearing on what happened?
We have 'crawler' lanes for SLOW moving vehicles, why should it be wrong to refer to the outside lane as the fast lane, fast being opposite to slow?

Because i would want to see what they were doing before they were overtaking the Bus. Just looking at that video clip they seem like they arn't concentrating on their speed or what is ahead then suddenly speed up when they realise they are going so slow.

The passenger may have been smiling and laughing due to them commenting on how slow the driver was going and seeing you having to go in the inside lane due to their speed.

There's a difference between being a dashcam warrior and only submitting the most serious incidents.

The longer you own a dashcam the more things won't phase you. If I downloaded every incident then I'd be removing the memory card every day. I fully expect to be cut up half a dozen times on my commute. Similarly there are times when I will have to floor it and chance it once on my commute or I'll never get out of a junction. Of course I'll do my best to choose an appropriate gap and I will accelerate hard up to speed but it's going to occasionally infringe on another motorist.

Now as a seasoned dashcam user I only download clips where I've witnessed an accident or for those comedy moments.

I do admit I'm new to the world of dashcam's, hence my original question.
  • Paranoid nonsense. I doubt he knew you were there until you undertook him. Did you flash your lights?

His brake lights came on again as he accelerated away.

    No I didn't flash him.

I'm not going to go into a dozen reasons why you were in the right or in the wrong: I didn't even watch the video. I am merely going to answer your question:

No. The Police will not do anything about it.
I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.
