Is it still Monday in your neck of the woods? It's gone half past Tuesday in our time zone........

Salesman has upped the offer a little. Still not where we need it to be but he has started asking about "our bottom line" and "what will it take to clinch it". Agent is going to go back to him tomorrow with a figure.
I have put in requests to view on all the properties we want to see now and about two thirds have been confirmed. Really looking forward to this bit. I remember how I loved going to view houses when Mr F and I first got together. It feels like we're going on a great adventure
I managed to get through one of my two ironing piles today. And no cleaning was required :T
Friend and I decided to delay our meet up until tomorrow but she will have more time so a better plan. Looking forward to leaving the house
Mr F thinks bonus will be paid in April salary

I don't mind a bit of teasing Greying - I'm such a doughnut sometimes I make myself laugh :rotfl:All happening so quick!
It does feel that way Beanie but I think I'd prefer to get through things quickly rather than have the drag out.

Agent has put our suggestion to Salesman and he wants to talk it over with his wife tonight. However he was saying things like "What do we do if we want to proceed on that basis" so it's looking positive. It would be lovely to go up to Shropshire in a position to offer. We will know tomorrow morning.
Met friend for coffee this morning. So lovely to get out of the house and away from the chores. Friend paid as well so that was a bonusPopped into the market town to run a couple of errands and pick up a few grocery items. I think we can do without an on-line grocery shop this week as we will be away for most of it. Any savings will help to fund our trip.
Treated myself to lunch out and had some quiet time browsing magazines and watching the world go by. Will meet the costs from personal spends.
Some belated birthday presents turned up today and they are really thoughtful - so nice when people buy you something they know you will really love
I'm still waiting for confirmation on a few viewings for the weekend so will chase them up tomorrow. If we don't come to an agreement on price in the morning I will have to clean the house again as we have another viewing booked for Friday and a request for a further on Saturday. Really hoping I don't have to run around cleaning before we go so perhaps that will encourage Salesman to clinch the deal.

Do you not have closing dates in England?
In Scotland if there are interested parties they put in a note of interest.
Then if need be it goes to a closing date.
ie if there is more than one interested party then they both bid & it goes to the highest bidder.
So maybe worth having the weekend viewers?I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. It works differently in England Beanie. Usually offers are made subject to the property being taken off the market. The buyer can then have a level of confidence that they won't be gazumped and will be happier to proceed with mortgage applications, surveys etc. It's a useful negotiating tool and we have said we will only take our house off the market if the offer is high enough.
If you have more than one interested party they will put in competing offers and there is a bit of to-ing and fro-ing. If that goes on too long you can go to sealed bid where each buyer puts in their very best final offer. This is a bit of a farce though as you don't have to accept the sealed bids and can continue negotiating afterwards if you want.
We would prefer to sell to a committed buyer and take the property off the market immediately as too much competition encourages people to exceed their budgets and have second thoughts afterwards. We'd rather have the confidence to proceed than a little more money as we could easily lose that in costs if the sale fell through.
If we don't reach agreement on price tomorrow we will go ahead with the viewings and our bidders will run the risk that someone else will make an offer. I hope it doesn't come to that though as we will be in a good negotiating position ourselves if we have an agreed offer from first time buyers.
Swings and roundabouts and I think everyone approaches things differently.
