Thank you everyone for my birthday wishes. It was a low key day as Mr F and I are away house hunting at the weekend and are going to treat it as a bit of a mini break for our birthdays (his is quite close to mine).
We've had some feedback from the weekend's viewings. The first couple think we are too far out for their teenage children and the second really want us but just can't stretch their budget enough. No surprises there.
Today's viewing seems very positive though. A young local couple who bought builder dad along to help. Very happy to have a builder in the house as we know we are structurally sound and any little bits and pieces that need doing wouldn't put a builder off. I also thought he would be able to see the potential in the house and sure enough he was full of ideas. We knew we ticked a lot of their boxes on paper and they seemed genuinely happy with what they found. Agent is feeling positive about it too. The guy works in sales though and I think he may be tempted to negotiate hard. We'll have to wait and see whether they a) make an offer at all and b) whether it's anywhere near what we would accept.
In the meantime, I have booked us a few days in Shropshire so we can do some exploring and viewing. Mr F has lots of reward points and I was hoping to use them to meet the costs, however, there are only a certain number of rooms available under the scheme at any one time and they are all booked up for the first 2 nights. The last 2 nights are available though so at least that's halved the cost.
I managed to set up 2 viewings for the first day  Out of the 20ish we'd like to fit in  Mainly because Agents have not been getting back to me  I wonder what the owners would say if they knew... I might tell them.
I will persevere tomorrow. However, I'm planning to meet up with a couple of friends for coffee because I really need some time off from cleaning and viewingMy house is sparkling anyway and I am exhausted from the one viewing today
I'm not cut out for this
Pay today tomorrow. Will it be bonus day too?

Hey fortune I can't believe I missed your new diary. I thought you'd just been off tittivating house things and been too busy to post. Please accept my apologies!
Wow! You have been busy, it's all go, go, go at your end. I know what you mean about seeing your house in RM. But also agree once you've decided you're off, you just want it done.
Hope you get a buyer very soon. I believe in fate in all these things. Right person, right time etc....
Loving the recipes, saved a few. I'm all caught up. Sending you positive selling vibes from across the miles0 -

Hi Jessy and thank you for the good wishes. I don't think I am particularly motivated I think I just write in my diary on the productive days - plenty of pj days get fitted in too believe me :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:PurpleFairy26 wrote: »Hey fortune I can't believe I missed your new diary. Hey Purp :hello:
no apology necessary - it's hard enough keeping up with things in real life let alone in the virtual world :rotfl:
I'm hoping we have found the right person... update to follow.

Yesterday's couple have made an offer. As I expected he is playing hard ball (£20k below asking price) although I wouldn't have been surprised if he'd gone in lower. We have declined. We have a bottom line and can't realise our own goals if we don't make it. We're not in a hurry and it's already been a wrench to consider moving so we aren't prepared to do so unless it is worth our while.
What is lovely is that people like the house, they think it's been priced appropriately and some are interested in buying it :T
We have another viewing booked for Friday but I'm hoping Salesman couple will increase their offer to something we could consider so I can stop cleaning :rotfl: Well, not entirely obviously but not quite so compulsively.
I have booked more viewings for our trip. Day 1 is fulll and includes our front runner. Day 2 is in progress but includes our second most interesting property. There will be a couple of properties left over to see on Day 3 but I'm keeping some time back in case anything interesting comes on to the market this week and for second viewings if necessary.
In other news, today is not payday... tomorrow is paydayI even checked the bank account this morning before I realised :rotfl:
Hope you're having a happy Monday.
