Fortune - this is all so exciting. I found the estate Agents frustrating when we sold our last house and found myself taking control and doing the viewings myself. They all seemed to be inexperienced and didn't even ask basic questions. They would ring me to arrange a viewing and I would ask what the position of the buyer was, first time buyer, house on the market etc and they hadn't even thought to ask grrr. I found myself showing people round who hadn't even put their own house on the market !
Anyway fingers crossed you will find a buyer quickly and find you dream property in the new location x0 -
Good news you are now live on RM.
We had exactly the same thoughts about our house being so lovely and wondering why we would want to move!0 -

How exciting! Ours are very good in many ways but I have had a word now about a few things. I think it's important that the Agents take the viewings. Buyers are so much more relaxed about asking questions about the place then and can always have a chat with us after if they want to.EatingTheElephant wrote: »Good news you are now live on RM.

It's hard at this time of year because the countryside around us is so beautiful. But I am sure there are equally beautiful locations in Shropshire. Now is the time to go.

I do hope we get through this process quickly - it's exhausting. I don't feel stressed but I think there is a chronic low grade level of anxiety involved when you're going through a house move and it hits you from time to time.
We had 2 viewings yesterday. Had to have a stiff word with the Agents though. They phoned to say a member of staff's car had broken down so could I do the viewings myself. I initially said yes but Mr F was cross about it and said "What are we paying these guys for" and "Haven't they heard of taxis" :rotfl: And he is quite right, if his car broke down on the way to a client meeting he would have to find an alternative way of getting there. So I called and said I thought it was important that they were here for the viewings, particularly as it was our launch weekend and, as the viewings were quite close together, it was likely they would overlap and we needed them here with us to manage that. Stranded member of staff was duly picked up by the manager and manager himself conducted our viewings.
I think they realise we were a bit put out about it as manager says he's going to personally oversee all the viewings from now on. Mr F says manager can smell a sale :rotfl: Let's hope so.
Both couples gave positive feedback about the house. The husband at the first viewing was completely sold but I think his wife has some reservations about whether it will suit their teenage children. The second couple were first time buyers and here for over a hour in total! We were the sixth house they'd seen that day and they really, really love us. However, I don't think they can afford us. Agent has put them in touch with the company's financial adviser to see if anything can be done.
We have another viewing tomorrow evening and it sounds as though we are the perfect fit for them and we are within their budget so here's hoping.
Only negative feedback we have received so far is that one of the photographs makes the garden look much bigger than it is so we are going to change that.
We were so tired by the end of the day we treated ourselves to supper out at a favourite pub. It's my birthday today so I was happy to loosen the reins on the budget for one night
I have washing out on the line as it's such a lovely day today and a little brown Jenny Wren kept me company hopping about on the lawnThe sun is shining and the birds are singing. I so hope we can find somewhere else just as lovely.
