I contacted them and this was their response:
Thank you for your email.
Further to your request, I would like to clarify that only members that
have a permanent membership and have earned points from / through actual
spend can redeem points.
Looking into your account, you have only been credited with bonus points
through a promotion. We do not charge any fee to credit points. The same
has to be earned only by actual spend. You can use your membership card
for spend at our hotels in London( The Carlton Tower / The Lowndes
Hotel).
The membership will be valid for 2 years hence you can use your
membership any time within two years to earn points and redeem the same.
Should you need any further assistance, please do not hesitate to
contact the card centre.2p off is still 2p off!0 -
Does that mean that you have to spend enough to earn 1000 points before they will allow you access to redeem your free 1000 points?0
-
That's what it sounds like, initially I just thought you had to spend $30 to activate your card and then redeem your 1,000 points.2p off is still 2p off!0

Well I put some spend on my temporary membership card in the Burj Al Arab last week, I will let you know what happens when my points are added on and my membership status changes.

Jumeirah Beach Hotel - Dubai have just emailed me back after I asked them how much to use the beach facilities for the day, 350dh - £54, can you believe?!!? It was only around £10-15 when I was there a couple of years ago.
I wondered if anyone has been recently and has been to any other lovely beaches that might have recommendations?
thanks for reading, hope to hear from you, kind regards

Hi,
Just looking at hotels now as part of my honeymoon in Dubai. Would anyone have stayed in the Hilton on Jumeriah beach and would anyone know if it is better than the JBH??
Thanks.0 -
I've been into the Hilton and it is very very nice, haven't been into the JBH so can't really comment. Why don't you just splash out big and stay in the Burj Al Arab?!?!2p off is still 2p off!0

In my dreams I think is the closet I will get to the Burj Al Arab!!!0

I went to the hilton on the beach,(but only for the day as we were staying at the creek hilton in the city). I Didnt like it very much, its right in the middle of all the building work, and there were loads of screaming kids around the pool, have you looked at the royal mirage, or the grovernor ? Could you manage just one night at the Burj al arab, its out of this world and worth every penny.0

There are some very good deals at the Grosvenor House at the moment, check tripadvisor.com forum. They were doing free half board option. But it is right in the construction area at the marina, but ask for a seaview room and it won't bother you. The place is brand new and has had some excellent reviews. We're going in March but not staying there has I had already booked something else when I saw this.0
