I e-mailed them and they're located on the Al Wasl Rd.
10 mins from Mall of Emirates
    5 mins beach
    5 mins Jumeirah Hotel
    5 mins Burj al Arab

Commuting to city centre might be time consuming in peak times from what I remember of the Jumeirah Beach Road.

    the location is ok

it is tem mins from emirates shopping mall (the one with the ski slope) and the mall is on sheik zayed rd which is the main road into town
#but you can also get into town going along al wasl rd, the tradfic is only bad between 7-9 and 6-8, but shopping is open till 10 or even 12 at night so you will have no problems and i would advise going shopping at night due to the heat anyway.

if you look at the map you will see you will be in the region of most of the shopping malls anyway

the markets or souks (including the gold souk) as they are known are in bur dubai and deira which should only be about 25 dhs in a taxi ( around £4) to bur dubai and then you get the boat across (which costs around 10p) to deira

have a look at this, you will be able to get a copy of this in dubai as a magazine and it always has special offers to cut out inside

food prices are really good, take aways are very cheap and the hotels are very reasonable

i go to a resturant where i get lamb shoarama with arabian bread and salad for 25 dhs (£4) and i very rarely finish it as there is so much

  • Hi

Can anyone give me advise on the airport?

Have read some terrible reviews re transiting through airport, ie having to wait 1/2 an hour for a bus to the terminal, then having to go through immigration, then as everything takes so long having to run 20 mins to catch your next flight!

I will be travelling with 2 small children, we are going to Nz so not looking forward to it!

    thanks
    April Grocery challange £175

    Spent week 1 £29.90
    week 2 £62.64, TOTAL £92.54
  • We didn't transfer when we went but had no problems at the airport, yes it is busy but which airport isn't? They tend to be quieter during the day, not sure what time you're transferring. But I wouldn't worry about it, I'm sure the airline will have you down as transferring so if you're slightly late late I doubt they'd leave without. Similar experience recently on the way to LA and they just delayed the flight by half an hour.
2p off is still 2p off!
  • I've never had a problem disembarking, we fly emirates and the plane links straight in to the terminal building which is well signposted.I use the Marhaba service to get through immigration quickly and you are escoted to the taxi rank, it's DH 70 (i feel well worth the money especially arriving at midnight with everyone else) but i don't know if they have a transit version.
We also waited on a bankok connection for half an hour that was late so they should wait, recommended transit time between flights is 70 minutes on emirates website
  • Can anyone confirm that when you go through passport control at Dubai airport there is a duty free shop that you can make purchases. i was sure i saw one last trip but don't want to miss out if there is a reason why in coming flights can't buy alcohol.
Also if anyone has used it are the prices as competitive as duty free on homeward bound side i.e flying back to UK?
