Where have you found these great deals as I'm after a trip to Dubai on w/b 26th Feb??0
-
Ace, I've been keeping a constant eye on tripadvisor.com and saw this discussed in the last couple of days on the forum, have a look on there the knowledge is really high. Think the price was about £1900 for 7 nights for 2 people. Yes its a lot but it included a really good upgrade to exec. I booked ours through Airline Network a couple of months back, cost £680 each staying Towers Rotana 4star B&B flying Emirates. I chose this hotel for location first and value. Good luck.0

Thanks for that....really wanted to stay at the Oasis Beach half board but now the travel agent says fully booked !!!
Will airline-network price match at all? I want the best deal for 7 nights leaving 25th/26th Feb for 2 adults + 1 infant and hopefully BA or Emirates flight.....?0 -
Oasis Beach is a really good and friendly hotel. An agent I was going to use told me it was full, but a visit to www.hotels.com told me otherwise, in the end I rung them up and booked and got a very good deal, managed to get an upgrade to a better room and breakfast included. It might be better to eat out as the food works out cheaper and nicer (not to knock the food, it's fine otherwise)2p off is still 2p off!0

Not sure about airline network pricematch because nobody else got near their price. If you got the hotel through someone like hotels.com your flights will be a lot cheaper through Royal Brunai, Ethiad or Gulf Air. Alternately BA have flights into Abu Dhabi in the sale from £259 (short cheap taxi ride away).0

At the time we got our flights from Swiss, were quite cheap but not direct, I know friends who have used KLM and Air France who are cheap at times too. I'm sure I seen BA have flights to Dubai in their sale too.2p off is still 2p off!0

Do you £1890 for 2 adults + 1 infant at the Oasis Beach (half board) flying with Emirates on 25th Feb is a good deal?0
-
It's not bad, for how long? We paid about £1200 for 2 adults for 9 days at the Oasis, breakfast only, but on the top floor with access to the privelege club thing and sea view2p off is still 2p off!0

Sounds reasonable Ace, Feb is one of the most expensive times because of the shopping festival although I don't know when that finishes, also did they tell you Oasis is in construction area. If its Jumeirah beach location you want Oasis is the only 4star so will be cheapest. Eating out is cheaper in the city (10 mins in a taxi) food can cost as little or as much as you want, its the booze that will rinse your credit card.0

Apparently the shopping festival isn't much and going other times of year is better as it's cheaper, is the shopping festival not March? There is a lot of construction but if you have sea view you don't notice it much and it's not the type of area where you would walk around a lot anyway.
If we were ever out shopping or in the city we would normally just eat then as much more choice, as NellieA suggested it depends on where you eat, sometimes we would go to a restaurant other times a fast food place would do. Might be worth visiting The Meat Company in the Madinat Jumeirah if you're a meat lover - best steak ever!2p off is still 2p off!0
