We only know what he told us, he was very shook up it was just him in the carriage when they go on.
Really scary! Did he attempt to refuse? I am going to Heathrow by tube in May. I will make sure that I am not on my own in a tube carriage even if it means getting off and waiting for the next train to come.

It might be worth getting a money belt to keep your passport and cards in, they're worn underneath your clothes. Then have a dummy purse/wallet in your normal bag, just in case.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

    I already have a money belt/pouch but haven't tried a dummy purse/wallet yet.

Glad you all managed to work as a team and get it sorted, he is very lucky to have such good parents!

Just wondering what else was in the bag he lost... phone, bank cards etc? Anything that needs to be cancelled, or was he lucky and had those in his pockets?

Wallet was in coat pocket, he lost a phone charger, snacks for airport, book, afterhsave and a change of clothes, this was his hold luggage bag

Nope he said he didn't say a word and just done as told, tfl police said to him he wasn't the first that morning that had this happen.

With living so close to London I've often been into London on tubes to see shows and never ha an issue bar rowdy lads.

He was travelling very early on an empty carriage, personally I would have found one with people.

We had actually the night before offered to pay for an uber to the airport but he had declined saying he is ok with the train and tube.

We live right next to Gatwick where he works but he couldn't get a direct flight from there to Philly hence he was enroute to Heathrow.

Just one of lifes nasty lessons.

And as I type his gf has texted me to say he has arrived in Philly!

Also glad that he got away ok in the end. On reading the account, I wondered how many others were on the tube at the time? If someone told me to get off the train with one bag and leave something else behind, I would put up some sort of fight. Did they have weapons of some kind?

Me vs two blokes guaranteed to be larger than me. I don't think I'd wanting to find out if they'd got weapons. Discretion would definitely be the better part of valour.

So glad he's arrived safely and can now enjoy his holiday with his GF. Kudos to AAirline and the passport office for sorting everything out so quickly for him. So often you only hear the negatives about airlines etc but this time they really pulled out all the stops to help.

Ahh my home town. Make sure she takes him for a cheese steak at Pats or Ginos, and ask for provolone on it, wizz is too messy.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I'll pass that on to him, He is staying at his gf's in Lansdale? and today took a ferry to New York.

American Airlines, passport office and underground staff and tfl police have all been fantastic!

Hubby is taking morning off to make sure he gets passport and to airport in time, driven no tubes this time.

Send a BIG thank you to all involved.
