Situation as of this moment he has been allowed in and forms took off him and he just has to wait to see an assessor which could be hours they told him but he is more than happy to sit and wait.
He is fully aware he will not get a replacement today, he just needs to get his paperwork into the system so the wait for passport will be quicker.#JusticeForGrenfell0 -

I hope he has explained the situation to his boss. Perhaps someone else will feel like swapping shifts with him over the next few days? Otherwise this would be a good time to plan a holiday in the UK.
Hubby is convinced he is covered on our multi trip plan but can't check till later.
He went to the USA last November and I purchased the insurance for him for less than twenty quid, if and when he sorts this mess out I will do that again regardless of hubbys insurance just so I have the peace of mind.
He wont holiday in UK his gf lives in the USA and it is her who he goes to visit.#JusticeForGrenfell0 -
I think you have to apply for an ESTA 72 hours before traveltravelover0

I would suggest that after the new passport is gained that if a smartphone/tablet is available photograph it or have photo copies that way if a problem was to arise you still have documented info to travel.
I know it may not work for the US under the "new regs" but could save some problems if things go wrong.0 -
ESTA - Mum had forgotten to renew hers, didn't realise until check in and we did it on an iPad in Manchester Airport. Valid straight away hope that helpsShady pines ma, shady pines0

In the large majority of cases an ESTA is issued almost immediately.littlereddevil wrote: »I think you have to apply for an ESTA 72 hours before travel
The UK Gov't state 72 hours because in exceptional circumstances it can take up to this long before you hear anything back.
I'm on my 5th ESTA and all 5 of them were authorised within seconds of me submitting the application.
As the OP's son has already had one ESTA, the next one shouldn't hopefully be a problem.0 -
He is still waiting to be seen, thank you everyone for help, we went to disney a few years ago so when he reapplies for ESTA it will be his 3rd in 4 years, previous 2 all came back immediately, but with his luck god knows!
I'm just grateful he wasn't hurt and in scheme of it all a few days isn't the end of the world though it feels it for him.#JusticeForGrenfell0 -
What happened on the tube was very scary, he had two men sit either side of him and tell him to get off with his case and leave his bag.
He didn't argue just got off as instructed, seems tubes on the way too Heathrow are prone to this type of thing, at least he isn't hurt.
Getting that call at 7am saying Mum they took my bag !!!!!! do I do? Panicked me as it would anyone, thankfully station staff did their job amazingly well and got tfl police involved and reassured my lad all would work out.#JusticeForGrenfell0 -
RESULT!!!! He had to book a flight infront of them to prove he was travelling aas unless he had travel in the next 7 days then he would have to wait a week and it will be printed tonight to collect first thing tomorrow, they gave him number for the ESTA!
He is booked for tomorrow evening, in all cost with flight change and passport £390 extra .#JusticeForGrenfell0
