  • You can only expect 50% discount on the line rental cost.. asking for your PAC code will not increase this, so assuming the 200 txt / min tarif is £20 then £10 would be the minimum it could drop.. however I'm not familiar with a tarif which just has 200 minutes / 200 txt.. maybe they were refering to the A150 / 50 txt...

either way, just to give you an example of "None hardware deals" to expect if you "Blag it"

    600 Minutes / Unlimited txts @ £25
    12 Month contract
9 months Half Price Line Rental (With your PAC you can increase this to 12)
    so, effectively £12.50 per month

This is like I say a non hardware deal, so you keep your current handset.

Hi, I am new to these forums but was wondering what kind of deal I would be able to get for the new Samsung Omnia? I have previously got quite good deals. At the moment I am paying £25pm for 600 minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited internet access and vodafone passport (not sure what this is though).
    Thanks
  • I am fed up with stupid phones.

Trying to sort my sisters contract for her. Shes currently paying £35 a month for 600mins unlim texts with vodafone. I searched for ages to find her a deal and found her one with 3 for £25 unlim texts, 750mins with a free nokia 6220 (which is the only kinda phone she wants because she only wants a nokia and prefers the classic style ones to slider phones). We signed up with 3 as her vodafone contract ends soon and they werent prepared to offer anything really as the only decent nokia vodafone do that she wanted was the n95 8gb.

Then vodafone rang today saying heres your pac code etc we can offer you your current tariff (600mins unlim texts for £25 with free n95 8gb). Tried to get them to come down a tiny bit but they wouldnt so sis doesnt know what to do.

Whether to go with 3 and get more mins and a £20 accessory voucher and the classic kinda phone she wants or stay with vodafone or hold out for abetter deal from vodafone.

Do you think they are likely to ring and offer a better deal?
Winnings : Mars football x3, Rugby Ball, Cricket Ball x2, Vodkat kit, £10 Tesco Card, Barcardi Mojito Hamper

There is things you have to consider with the 3 network...

    A) Indian based customer services who often read from scripts and cannot help with real issues.

Vodafone has UK based call centres which, whilst sometimes unhelpful you can actually understand.

    B) 3 Has it's own 3G network however doesn't have a standard signal network, it piggybacks on Orange.. the implications to this are you may often receive dropped calls and issues with service.

Vodafone has both, and one of the best coverage in the country.

    C) 3 are pretty much the worst operator in the UK and cut back on costs which generally up the customers experiance, this is why they can offer deals cheaper.

Vodafone is the biggest telecommunications company in the world.

    D) The 6220 is plastic and cheap.

    The N95 8GB is not.

Erm.. Make up your own mind.

Side note: it's unlikely you'll get a better deal tbh.

Probobly the same tariff at 30/35/40, depending on if you go over your payments at all.

Vodafone Passport covers most european countries. Say for example you went to Spain you could call back to the UK (Landline/Mobile) for upto 1 hour and only pay a 75 pence connection charge.

I.e. Connection to the UK = 75p.. no charge upto an hour.

Just by operating in China alone would make them the biggest, but with Pakistan thats a unsual combination.
