Do better? She'd know you were lieing I'm afraid. The Omnia is a £500 handset.. you'd be getting it at a total of £360 over a 12 month period.. If you used all your minutes and texts and called Cust Services a couple of times Vodafone (and any company) would be losing alot of money on that deal.

If you're going to try and get a deal never lie blatently to the agent, they'll see through it and be reluctant to offer you anything.

Disclaimer: I realise that £500 isn't the cost that Vodafone would be purchasing the handset at, however I'm pretty sure it's over £300.

lol..Thanks but of course I did not state the obvious when speaking to them, I said I'll think about it and for them to call once I have made a decision. Well they called today and I spoke to the lady for 15 mins and got the
HTC Touch Pro (which is a £400 phone)
    £30 a month
    12 months
    700 mins + 100 txt + unlimited internet.

    Thanks Jimgee

He must of had a decent spend in the last 3 months :)

Regardless, Outbound Retention can offer some stupid deals sometimes.

Yeah he did spend £60 over his contract over the last few months, do you work for them? We were both on £40 tariffs

Yes and £40 tariffs without discount will give Outbound Retention alot to play with :)
  • well in the last 3 months i have spent £60 over my bill. but because we have 2 phones with one account then that is seen as 1 customer isnt it so as they have 'money' to spend we are never going to get a good deal are we? and seeing as my phone is the 2nd handset on the account thats why im getting crap deals. really annoying.

Well 2 lines on one account.
    Bill of £60.

Thats an average of £10 per line, so yeah, pretty much.

Best advice I can give to you is to use your mobile phones excessively for 3 months and then ask for a PAC, you'll get a much better deal.
  • Over the last three months, or even longer, I've been going significantly over my contract limits, causing bills in excess of £55.

I'm after the C905, on a £30~ contract, with unlimited texts and a fair few minutes. (internet perhaps).

    What chance do I stand?

    Thanks.
  • I need your advice guys:

I have reached the 9 month period of a 12 month contract (35pm). I rang upgrades, and told them I want to keep my existing phone, and what could the offer me. I dont want too many texts of minutes as I dont use them.

They said if you keep your phone, you can have:

200 mins, 200 texts, for £10/month (although it would actually be a 12 month contract, but after month 9, the price would double to £20/month, however after month 9 you can ring up again and get a new deal).

Is this any good? Or should I wait 2 months till a month before my 12 months expires, and ring cancellations, request my PAC code, and attempt to get a better deal?

If so.. what is the standard better deal that can be expected compared to what upgrades have offered? It is worth pointing out that any deal would have to also offset the fact that i'd have to pay the next two months at £35/pm. In terms of usage, i tend to go about £5 over each month, and and have had the 6.95 incurance too, so each month ive been getting a bill for just over 45 quid (which is a lot imo).

Also, what is the earliest I can get thru to final retentions? I suspect I cant right now as i am only in month 10 now, or is it still possible to negociate a deal?
