Why don’t you set up an additional 18 month sim only that’s available (as the offers are amazing on that)…. Once it’s set up, port your old number to a PAYG sim on another network then port it to your new sim deal? You can get 40GB for £10/mth or 140GB for £13/mth…

I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂

I might have to do that.

Really like the Vodafone network an don't want to jump ship to a potentially inferior one for my area.

Yesterday, the "40GB for £10" appeared in the app on one of the 3 large 'offer' tiles. Definitely wasn't an "additional plan" as it states that clearly - those types of offer regularly appear there. Upon clicking on it the app asked me to login again and took me to a webpage version of the upgrades and that offer was not there.

Went onto live chat with retentions. They could just offer the same deals that I was quoted by the normal customer service operatives. Quite disappointing, as in previous years they were very flexible and even their initial offer way better than the "normal' ones.

May give them a call later though...

Well, after 3 live chats and a call I've just had to go for the 12GB RED SIMO plan at £10.

The next 'retentions' plan up is 40GB for
    £14 apparently.

Seems like there's no longer a proper 'retentions' department as no matter who I contacted, some of which said they handled customer retentions, they all had the same list of deals and couldn't or wouldn't budge.

Long gone are the days of them phoning me up, offering multiple months free on top of special discounts way better than what the normal CS could offer.

Still, it's not too bad, and I'll make most of the cost back via the excellent VeryMe Rewards ;-)
  • Hi - anyone getting any good retention deals? I called to leave and they didn't even try to retain.
  • They r not interested anymore it seems. I left 2 contracts and went to Three,
Prices @three good and offered me a third contracts for next to nothing but 2 is enough.
What I like about 3 is .......£10 for unlimited international calls

Looks like it's bye bye Vodafone, they weren't at all interested in offering a deal on a new handset, even after requesting the PAC.  £54 a month for an iPhone 13 LOL.
  • Same here. Tried in store and with customers services on the phone. Zero deals, zero retention, zero support. The network is good, but they're coming out around 20% more expensive than 3 on an iPhone pro max over 24 months

Just about to move my final and longest standing account away from Vodafone, from all the comments here and elsewhere
and my previous experiences where they wait until I leave and then make an offer that would have kept me if they offered
that initially or even before I had ported the number out.

3 Mobiles, landline and broadband down to nothing.  Only real issues were them adding that securenet addon even though
I disabled it when upgrading making sure they did not even add it as a freebie but it got refunded and more money off the bill.

Customer for over 20 years, just my BT Cellnet line prior to that.

I was thinking about moving from EE to Vodafone on SIM Only plan due to signal in my apartment is better on Vodafone network then EE and I got Pixel Watch LTE and EE want extra £11 a month for that plan while if I choose Voda £25 plan I can add watch for only £3. However after reading this I am thinking is it worth it haha

    Full-fat Vodafone 100GB £8.50/month after cashback.

Adding an eSim for the watch would be another £7/month, sharing the data plan.

That price might go up on April 1, haven't asked as my current deal ends on 10/04.
