My mate came round the other day, she just accepted a deal with then so I thought I would post.

Samsung Steel (i think thats what its called!)
    12 month contract
    1200 mins
    250 txt
    £25 month

As for me, cancellation letter sent off last week. I've had 3 phone calls. All say same, no N95 8 gb unless 18 month contract- which I don't want. Still holding out!
  • Just asked for my PAC code. My contract is up, paying £15 for 100 mins, 50 texts.

Told the guy I was going to Orange SIM only Racoon 10. 225 mins, 100 texts, unlimited evening and weekend landline calls, for £10.

He offered 225 mins, 100 texts for £12.50, with no free landline calls. Funnily enough, I didn't accept.

Any ideas what I might get from a retention call, if I was willing to continue paying £15? New phone would be nice (N95, Soul or C902), but guess I probably wouldn't get an expensive phone for free with my current spend? Free web access would also be nice... any chance?

honest guv, my current spend was only £16 p/m and the sales people were telling me I am a 'light user' so would not get a decent phone for free. They offered me all sorts of rubbish.. some old Nokia and old Sony Ericsson, which I obviously refused.

Now Im paying only £12.50 p/m for 600 mins and unlim texts with a Free Samsung Soul.. which is quite pricey as it's one of the best selling phones at the moment.. so don't give up hope! You will get a good deal if you keep pushing them, dont take their first offer.

No, I didnt ask about a 12m contract, spose I could have pushed them for one.. but Ive been on an 18month plan for ages now, and Id rather have a longer contract and a lower montly rate (if that makes sense...). I suppose if I'd pushed for 12months I wouldnt have got the £12.50 offer? Who knows?

Nope, didn't get free unlimited internet, but I did get it free for the first month and free insurance for the 1st month (but thats pretty much standard for Voda anyway)

She did't say if it was for existing customers or not. I guess it could be for anyone? She didn't specifiy. It's the best deal I was offered though, and haven't had to pay a penny for the phone, so Im chuffed.
  • I returned my upgrade phone - decided that the new price plan they offered me wasnt good enough - 112 mins/250 texts/£15pm + Samsung steel. The t&c's stated I could cancel in 14 days (return the new phone) and return to old plan but when I rang today to say that my online account was still showing new tariff I was told that my old tariff Anytime 100 has been discontinued and therefore it wasnt possible to reset my account back to that tariff and i'm now on Anytime 75! Doesnt seem right to me.

I wasnt happy before so now i'm even more unhappy

    That's a bit cr*p..

They kepy saying to me "the tariff you're on now is no longer available.. you're best to stay with this as you have stop the clock free and this is usually an extra £5 p/m" although I told them my minutes were not the problem, it was the lack of texts and the price I was paying per month. They will always try and make the tariff you're on sound fantastic.

I think it's just a case of being stubborn with things like this. I'm always clear about what I want.. and if they're stubborn with me, I'll be equally as stubborn. I'm sure you could get a better deal out of them. I've got more mins and texts, and paying less than 15.. so it's just a case of being persistent and playing the waiting game. They WILL phone you back the next day after requesting a PAC code.

The worst case scenario is that you end the contract/have to use your PAC for another deal.. but this didn't worry me as I saw an Orange deal that suited me just fine if Voda did not want to stretch. But they did, and now personally, this deal works out better for me.

I was on your tariff. They offered me a Samsung Steel, 112 mins and 250 text £15. Unfortunately I accepted though knowing that I could return it within 14 days. Having now returned it i'm stuck on Anytime 75 because the Anytime 100 tariff has been withdrawn. When I rang to say I was cancelling the upgrade all they offered me was one month free credit:confused: .

Some of the deals other people have had on here have been amazing and I would've been delighted with them.

I already have my PAC number, though it expires next week. I'll probably have to use it now as I seem to be worse off than before the "upgrade".
  • My contract finished today.

So I called them this time and agreed the new red LG Viewty with 500 minutes, unlimited web data, and 100 texts with free delivery for £22pm on a 12 month deal.

There is not much profit to Vodafone on this considering its a £200 handset.

This is cheaper than most cashback deals without the aggro. The internet is worth at least £6 a month.

Pleased with this deal and i have 14 days to hammer the phone or I will change it for the Tocco.

Can you transfer a number from a contract to a PAYG?

Have been paying £35/month (because it was on a cashback deal, but the company went bust  ) and am coming to the end of contract. I can't remember how many minutes/texts it includes, but don't use anywhere near what is included, hence the preference for PAYG.

Have been getting the calls from the retention department, but as my wife uses the phone, and they will only talk to me as the contract owner and they phone when I am at work, I haven't spoken to them yet.

What is the likely best deal they will offer on contract or will I be able to transfer the number to PAYG?

I am seriously upset with Vodafone. I got 2 unsolicited calls in July offering me an upgrade. I have 2 x £15 a month contracts with 225 mins and 100 texts and a £5 pm family add-on. I was offered 2 x 18 month contracts with 2 new SE C902s at £10 per month for the first 15 months, then going back to £15 per month - and £5 pm extra for the Family still.
I was out at lunch and couldn't deal with the offer call then and there so asked her to call back. The next day she called and it was still a bad time to speak so she offered to call back in 3 days.
No call ever came. Vodafone now deny all knowledge of this offer and say there's no way they would have offered me this deal. Plus according to them I had to reply immediately or at least within 24 hours - something else the person offering the deal didn't mention.

So they've reneged on a really great deal. They claim they 'outsource' some of their offers so it may have been someone not really part of vodafone. Oh please.... The woman today (I called back) said she will speak to her supervisor but she knows it's not an option they can offer me.
Who do I complain to? I think my PAC code's in the offing here. what a lousy way to run a company, to offer clients a great deal, then refuse it:mad: . I even made a trip into a voda store to check out the phone, read reviews online etc.
I have asked her to check the recording of the calls!

    !

This happened to me - I said I needed a couple of days to think about it and the guy agreed when he would call me back. Of course he didnt and when I rang them they just said what they've told you.

Have you thought about putting you complaint on the voda website eforum?
