i called for my pac last week from voda as they couldnt offer me anything decent, and was told that it was going to be sent in the post. still waiting...
g
i know this is slightly off topic but just wanted to make others aware of this..
its been a week since i requested my pac so called voda to find out why it was taking so long. as they said 3-5 working days to me last week. it now turns out that my pac was not requested last week!
in hindsight my fault really as i should have guessed, as the guy from voda who called me back was quite aggressive and rude. i should have doubted him and called back to double check.
so remember that and dont get caught out like i did. ive been told it has been requested now and will take another 2 days.
why why why do i go on thinking that all people have principles as the rest of us..
cheers,

Just called them (end of the month chancer!) spoke to a lovely lad but he could only offer me
Nokia 6210 Navigator (I've got a tomtom so this doesn't impress me - I wanted N95 or 6600 slide) FOC
50 anytime mins/150 texts (I don't use more than this so pretty much perfect)
£17.07 for the first 12months then £19.57 for the remaining 6months
Wanted it down to £15 for the 18m but he couldn't do it.
He's calling back tomorrow as I wanted to check the phone out online,

I have the 6210 navigator for £14 a month with 100 minutes and unlimited texts.
Thats on a 12 month contract too so your deal is very poor....0 -
Thanks Morph3us - when did you get your deal?0

This may be an odd Q but has anyone been offered any free gifts when they renew? They are on the website for band new contracts and I wondered if retentions were able to offer it aswell?0

Just thought I'd let you know my experience with Vodafone retentions was a piece of cake. Got what I wanted, but now left wondering if I should have got more. (obviously its too late now - phone turns up on monday).
I was out of contract (rolling month by month). Had a SE W880i - paying £15.66 (inc VAT) for 75 mins + Stop the Clock, 100 texts. Was also paying £6.95 for insurance (got the first 3 months free but never got round to cancelling it ). I never went over my mins as I do most of my calls in the evening (STC is superb for me - shame they dont do it as an option on new contracts now). Only extras I ever got charged were for WAP usage.
Anway, called them yesterday, said that I was thinking of leaving and getting an iPhone (i.e. going to O2). The guy I spoke to offered me Blackberry Storm for free, 250mins, 100txts and unlimited internet (well its 500meg, not strictly unlimited) for £25 on a 24 month contract. Told him I'd think about it but could I request my PAC anyway in case I still decided I wanted the iPhone. He agreed... end of call.
Got txt thanking me for my PAC request and that they will try and call me within 48 hours to give me my PAC.
Today, I got the call from the Retentions team regarding my cancellation request. I explained I was still thinking of leaving but hadnt made up my mind completely, explained what had been offered to me and that I didnt want the Storm as I read lots of news recently about lots of them being returned as something was faulty. She asked if there was any other phone that would tempt me to stay. I said the Samsung Omnia looks good (as that is the phone I wanted).
Without mentioning the phone again she asked if I was happy with my contract as I dont tend to (never have) gone over my minutes. I said yes as the Stop The Clock allowed me to do all my calling in the evening, but the only thing I would potentially want is the unlimited internet so that I dont have the WAP costs anymore.
Again she changed subject, do i want to keep my insurance. I said no, as I had been meaning to cancel it anyway. She said fine she would do that straight away. 10 secs later she said it was done, but would I be interested in staying if I kept the same low contract rate, paid an extra £5 for the internet and a free Samsung Omnia on a 18month contract.
I was gobsmacked. That's exactly what I was going to try and haggle to. If I'd tried to get that via Vodafone website phone upgrade process, they would have charged me £198 for the phone.
To cut a long story short - My terms are now 18 month contract - 75 mins + Stop The Clock - 100 texts - Unlimited Internet and a brand new shiny FREE Samsung Omnia for £20.55 (lost another 11p somewhere).
Keeping the Stop The Clock (i think its no longer available on new contracts) was the clincher for me as I can effectively talk for 25 hours (1500 mins) as long as I make my calls at the weekend or in the evening (7pm and 8am).
Would be interested to hear if anyone thinks I should have tried to haggle some more rather than take her first offer ? Or whether they think i got a good deal ?
Sorry for the long post. I've been reading the thread for ages, and just thought I'd share my experiences. Very simple process.

Had no intention of renewing my contract with Vodafone so gave my 30 days notice. Recieved a call from an extremely nice lady during the week there and accepted the following:
600 Mins
Unlimited Texts
Sony Ericsson K770i
12 months contract at £14.47 (£24.47 discounted by £10 for full duration)
Had consumed a few beers prior to the call from rententions and dont really know how I ended up with the K770i! Dont know much about phones, but think its going to do me fine, although pretty certain could have got something better if I'd known what I was looking for!0 -
always do some phone research first lol so u have extra bargaining points!0
